Event - Episode II Report on the Temple Construction Hot of the press, the latest news presented by our reporter in the field, agent Fox Winos! Understanding the need for an objective eye, she took it upon herself to attend the unveiling of both newly constructed temples so that all homins can get the latest scoop!
On to you, miss Winos:
The race between the Kami and the Karavan followers grew very intense the last days before the Almati Wood was closed, and the forest was ringing with the sound from the picks. Some swearing could also be heard in between from lonely harvesters being wiped out by guerilla fighters choosing to kill as means to hinder the opposition gaining the upper hand.
Listening in on the factions talking, one could also hear heated discussions about the best tactics to get as many temples and sanctuaries built. None were sure of the deities’ plans. Some wanted to build as much as possible on as many sites as possible, and the others wanted to work on the most advanced sites and get them as high as possible. It seems none of the camps managed to totally agree on any approach but worked along both theories.
The Almati Wood resources did not fair better then the other olden lands and the forest was finally depleted. The enormous task of building the places for worshipping and knowledge finally came to an end in a series of ceremonies at the most prominent sites for both factions. The Karavan and Kami envoys both brought words on which sites would be completed, and they announced that the sanctuaries in Pyr and Zora and the temples in Yrkanis and Fairhaven would be built. The war had ended in a draw!
They also announced that the temples and sanctuaries would be raised during a ceremony a few days forth at the most completed site for each faction. Now the time had come for rest and recuperation for the tired homins who had battled and dug for what seemed an eternity, while the divinities prepared for the final building of the places of worship.
The sanctuaries were built first in a gripping ceremony at the Pyr site lead by the Kami envoy and attended by the revered Grand Sage Mabreka Cho and Emperor Dexton with entourage. The loyal Kami followers had gathered and awaited their sanctuary with great eagerness, but also with anticipation in abundance for the rewards.
The Kami envoy started by thanking the homins for their great effort, here is an excerpt of his speech:
"I want now to thank you all for your contributions to this great labour, I recognise you all as proud and honourable Homins and I promise you that none of you will ever be forgotten by the Kami. As I said, the waves of time are endless, so hold onto the good moments, slow things down when you are happy with your loved ones, and let it rush past only when you seem trapped in sad and troubled shadows."
The Grand Sage Mabreka Cho and Emperor Dexton also said a few well chosen words in thanks to their loyal followers. Then a hush of anticipation went through the crowd and all eyes were fixated upon the pile of planks and crude outline of the sanctuary. In an instant Ma-Duk’s powers constructed the sanctuaries in all their glory and the homins were overawed for a while, before joyfully running around the site to take a closer look. A few Karavan followers who had sneaked in to watch were chased off by the Sanctuary Guards and the homins loyal to the Kamis could enjoy the moment in peace.
The next day was dedicated to the Karavan followers and the ceremony was lead by the Karavan Envoy and attended by the beloved King Yrkanis and Govenor Still Wyler with officers and guards. A large crowd had gathered at the Yrkanis building site and some were so eager to see their temple, they had to be told to settle down and wait for the ceremony to proceed.
The Karavan Envoy praised the the huge enterprise undertaken by the loyal supporters and gave great thanks to all, here follows a small excerpt from his speech:
"The work was hard, and the enemies were merciless, but Jena has heard your prayers and witnessed your bravery, setting her light above each and every one of you to bring you safe through the darkest passages of the past weeks. The Temples that you have helped to construct in Yrkanis and Fairhaven will act a beacon for you all in the darkest of the days that may be to come and will spread new knowledge across the face of Atys for all time."
Finally both King Yrkanis and Govenor Still Wyler thanked the Matis and the Trykers warmly for their mighty effort in the war and the building of the temples. The homins were getting restless at this point, but Jena would not be hurried in her creation and the excitement was tangible. Finally the divine creation was over and the Karavan Temple appeared in a flash and a gasp went through the crowd. The honorary guests slipped away quietly while the temple was examined with great interest.
Not all the Homins were followers of Kami or Karavan, but firm believers in the cause of neutrality and followers of Elias Tryton. To honour their efforts to prevent either side of winning the war, Elias Tryton sent a letter of thanks to his supporters and the message was passed on by his trusty aides, Syndix and Elyssa. The letter was sent only minutes before his aides arrived on the scene. A good crowd had gathered at Lorias Rise in Fairhaven to hear his words, sure in their cause and pleased with the outcome of the war that ended in a draw.
Your roving reporter has managed to acquire a copy of the letter, in which can be found the following:
"My dear Homins... the request that was directed to you was huge and came with the need of a lot of sacrifices, but there have been significant results. Because of you all neither one of the two factions, which claim to be so powerful, could unfold their power in the way they had planned. My thanks go out to all homins who stood up against their belief to act on either the Kami or the Karavan side. You demonstrated your will to make sacrifices for yourself and the whole Hominkind, something that surely goes beyond the call of duty, so I have to thank those among us who abjure battle as a solution but made the ultimate decision to fight against each other and maintain the balance at the cost of their personal integrity. "
After this, he chose to leave some words of parting, with a promise to the homins:
"The fight for our freedom will continue. Therefore keep spreading my word, the homins can live much better without either Kami or Karavan interference, and that homins themselves should control Homin destiny and the future of Atys. YOU will write our history through the actions you commit so that one day, all the free Homin peoples will be able to live in harmony. Signed, Elias Tryton "
The words were taken to heart by his followers and it seemed they were willing to keep up the cause in the future even though they do not know what challenges they are going to face.
