In order to celebrate the merging of two communities, together with the rejoining of long lost brothers and sisters, over 150 Homins gathered in Windermeer on Sunday night to participate in a beautiful and moving ceremony. The choice of place was in honour of the wayfarers from the Windermeer server and the ceremony was performed at the water’s edge to the sound of hushed breath amid the lapping waves.

 

The Homins spread all over the golden beaches, mingling freely with new found friends. Then, at a signal, a ripple went over the crowd all taking their seats as Shadowwe opened the ceremony with some words of welcome and friendship.

A representative from each race and from both communities stood waiting beside her with symbolic gifts. The first to present their gifts were Alibooma and Miklos of the Zorai, and it was with warm hearts and anticipation for a future together they exchanged gifts and told the fascinating tales of their origin.

 

Next was Oshido and Sxarlet for the Trykers, followed by Kostika and Chronosfera from the lands of Fyros. Last were Gfunk and Kibs representing the Matis land and not an eye was dry amongst the spectators watching as Shadowwe ended the ceremony with these words:

 

“These gifts given today are the beginnings of new bonds with new friends. Hold them close to your hearts and never forget them. These eight Homins have given of their heart to all of you. Never forget them or what they have given today. Now with these new bonds forged, go forth and make them stronger. Let the festivities begin!”

 

This got the party started and it continued long into the night, with games and food and much fun leading to the grand finale - a spectacular coordinated fire work show which was performed to the delight and amazement of the watching Homins.
