The dust of two great fights has settled and we're just now receiving reports of the action today... King Yrkanis himself spoke to the homins urging them to help in the attack on the Marauder camp. He asked them to fight in the interests of Matisian safety, and for the glory of Jena. Needless to say not everyone appreciated his sentiments, but the majority continued to follow the War Lord Bezzo as he led them, via a portal provided by the Karavan, to the attack.

A fierce battle soon followed as the leader of the Marauder group revealed herself - Akilia Ash Storm. Previous encounters with the Marauders have taught us that she is the daughter of their only apparent leader, Melkiar the Black Varynx. In between her cruel insults and taunts, the following useful information could be found:

"Yes you are indeed true to your kin, as before when your forebears left us in the Old Lands to become Kitin fodder. You would strip everything from us! Leave us to die like animals."

"But we are not the weak scared creatures that were abandoned to the carnage so long ago."

"Under my fathers rule we have grown stronger, faster and more brave than any of you weak surface dwellers could ever be! And soon under MY rule we will take back what once was robbed from us."

"My father Melkiar will be very displeased indeed that you have made it to our encampment... but it is of no concern. Soon you will die and my name shall shine again in my fathers eyes as we settle in your homes."

After this, Akilia abruptly vanished and unleashed her soldiers on the waiting homins; then the slaughter began. As the Marauders have no faith in either of the great powers they remained where they fell, but still more and more reinforcements came to fight the faithful.

Despite the strange powers of the Marauders, their weakness of not being able to revive after death was their undoing and they were defeated. Events took a startling turn however, as Akilia escaped and managed to overpower the Royal Guards and kidnap King Yrkanis himself! The homins responded by tracking her down into the arena and proceeded to attack her.

However, at this point conflicts between the homins sprung up, and some attempted to assist Akilia by attacking those trying to kill her and save the King. The fight raged on; after a time they mostly managed to put aside their differences and after Bezzo called on Jena for her blessing and assistance, the homins eventually managed to vanquish the Ash Storm.

Having been struck a serious wound, she left some parting words that we report here for those of you that are interested:

"I shall have vengeance for what you have done this day!"

"I shall return with more men than you have ever seen! My warrior force is vast and your pitiful excuse for an army will lie bleeding on the ground at our feet and I shall laugh at the lamentation of your kin. Your lands will be my domain and we will no longer be trapped in exile."

"Next time it shall not be so easy..."

Having seen the carnage wrought by this battle, let us all hope she will not return for some time.
