Slaver Campaign Speeches

Homins, I post here for you the texts of the speeches made Saturday night, May 20th, before the slaver campaign, as they include some interesting information about the tribes in the lakelands.

Ailan's Speech

Trykers and fellow Homins,

Shaly Nara, Marshall Rehn and I have discussed politics and debated issues. Yet it is action and direction that is often desired of a Governor.

There are both allies and enemies of the Tryker people in our own lands, often many only hear a name or see a patrol on the move.

But really many do not know who these tribes folk are. So we shall speak a little on each tribe.

Marshall Rehn will discuss the Kami tribes, followed by Shaly Nara for the Karavan tribes, then our proposal of action.

Rehn's Speech

Thank you Ailan.

Although as a people we largely revere the goddess Jena, there are many who follow the Kami ways.

Perhaps best known are the Corsairs. Warriors, sometimes robbers, the Corsairs have been more an ally than a foe, as in time of need, they rally to the cause of the people.

Their siding to the Kami is of convenience as well as a respect of the spirits of nature and youth.

The Beachcombers of Enchanted Isle are perhaps the most mystical of the tribes of the Lakes, very much a tribe that keeps to themselves.

They spend much time meditating on the magics of Atys, as they did in old Trykoth.

They for obvious reason favour Kami and zorai friends, but are not hostile to the Tryker state.

The last of the Kami tribes are the Lagoon Brothers of the Lagoons of Loria.

They are anarchic and dangerous folk.

Many are outcast, criminals and rebels. They seek to destroy pillage and loot.

They have no love of Fairhaven or for that matter any of the races' governments.
This savage and murderous tribe favours the Kami for their wild and powerful aspects.

Shaly will discuss the Karavan tribes.

Shaly's Speech

We tryker do favour the ways of Jena, on the whole as such many of the tribes of the past became part of the Trykoth itself, often becoming guilds.
There are still many Karavan tribes in Aedan Aqueous, who prefer for reasons of their own an amount of independence.

The Silt Sculptors are an ancient tribe, who are now settled in Winds of Muse.

They are crafters who sought more peaceful and quite places away from the hustle and bustle of the cities.

Named for originally living among the spirits of the dead, paying homage to their ancestors by crafting beautiful items, they now live simple lives dedicated to their crafts.

Their work is much appreciated by many, notably their own people and the Matis. Their designs of the varied outpost drills are their most noticeable works.

The Karavan lend support to their creativity where as the Kami seems less inclined to favour patient crafts and the gathering of resources.

The Smugglers, based in Fount, are just that, Smugglers. They trade and transport goods, evading laws and tariffs if it suits their needs.

They are not above robbery or attacks if they feel it is profitable and they have the numbers.

All are considered customers, so they favour no-one especially, but may regard Zorai as more hostile.

They trade with the Karavan for many goods, and have no trade with the Kami with whom they consider narrow-minded.

The Smugglers are not hostile to the state; they value profit and trade too much.

Slavery is very important to Trykers. The Matis who enslaved us over two centuries ago taught us the misery of this existence.

Since the time of our liberation we Trykers have been the forefront of Homin liberty.

Slavery now is a shadowy hidden trade, yet the Slaver tribe still conducts slaving activity, as well as hunting and skinning of primitives.

They seek profit and a destabilized Tryker government, they see Matis and Fyros as allies, though often misguided, there is significant trade with the races.

The Karavan tolerate their activity due to the trade they offer, while the Kami dislike the cull on the primitive tribes.

Lady Ailan will now state our joint proposal

Ailan's 2nd Speech

We three have determined that there are two tribes that represent a significant threat to the tryker state, that actively seek to destabilize the authority of Fairhaven and the liberties we seek for our people.

The tribes of the Slavers and the Lagoon Brothers need to be shown the firm resolves of the Tryker state.

These tribes are enemies of the state and seriously threaten trade, security and moral principles.

We recognise that the support they have from respective cults will not allow us at this stage to eliminate the tribes.

But we Trykers can certainly send a clear message that their activities are not desired nor wanted in Aedan Aqueous.

So we call to all gather and to join us in demonstrating to these tribes that liberty is not tolerant of criminals and freedom is fought for.

For those who feel attacking is wrong, think again, these tribes have no love for Tryker citizens and nationals.

Please gather yourselves in teams; we will strike the Lagoon Brothers and then after we shall strike at the Slavers.
