Homins I bring you a brief biography of Lady Ailan and the text of last night's speech:

Lady Ailan

Sensible and level headed, Ailan has been one of Stil Wyler’s closest advisors for the past 10 years.

Prior to this she traveled widely and was involved in the campaigns against the Matis in the years around 2514, where she put her knowledge of Matis tactics to devastating effect. She is also outspoken against the Slavers and has led several attempts to eradicate them from the Lakelands.

A direct descendant of Loria in the female line, Ailan trained with the Rangers under Wilk Potsdam for two years, but decided that she wished to focus more on fighting for Tryker than for all Hominkind. She still however retains friendship links with the rangers.

Several acts of bravery in her childhood including the attempt to join the Silt Sculpturers at the age of 9, led onto an adult life charged with fighting and the ability to make accurate and pragmatic decisions. A close personal friend of Stil and Rhiana Wyler, she intends, if elected to follow the work and gains made by Wyler.

Ailan is a Karavan supporter by belief, but is more inclined to a diplomatic alliance with the Fyros. Her supporters include Rhiana Wyler and Ambassador Quintin Derran.

The Speech

Hey ho Free trykers, Friends and Associates:

I thank you for joining me here today as this is indeed a special day. On this occasion, and with your trust and support, I am announcing formally that I will run for the post of Governor of New Trykoth in the upcoming election.

This election is an important one. It will define the leadership that will lead the tryker state out of the mourning period of our beloved late Governor Still Wyler. I will bring answers and revenge for this foul deed, foster unity in the fight against the ever threatening kitins, and work in the overall interest of the tryker state.

The treaty signing in the Nexus Minor was a significant day in tryker history in many ways. The day marked the beginning of the implementation of the New Treaty, which was an unprecedented and welcome concept. We have successfully taken the first step, but at a very high cost. I will make sure this cost is justified and that all involved in this will pay as well.

I grew up spending some time in all nations of Atys, I have learned the ways of each nation, their strengths and their weaknesses. I will use this to the benefit of the trykers, making New Trykoth a strong state in matters that is of importance to all without curbing the free tryker spirit and our adventerous nature.

I will continue to commit the trykers to the course pointed out by our dear, lost governor, strengthening the diplomatic bonds with our neigbours.

I will continue to improve our environment and enhance the quality of life for all our citizens and visitors alike.

If I am so elected, I will ensure my term includes the following efforts:

* To guarantee a federal government where we strengthen the cooperation between the people and the Governor, and ensure that together we will better serve the community

* To strengthen communication with the neighbouring nations, and in so doing, provide an even better and stronger position of our state

* To strengthen communication with the karavan side, to ensure that we are firm allies, without losing sight of the need for religious toleration.

The path ahead is not an easy one. But I believe that with dedication, an unyielding attitude, and a unity of purpose, we can ensure that the Aedan Aqueous will share an unparalleled vitality and spirit.

I am determined to continue to serve the tryker state with dedication, honesty, integrity, wisdom and vision also as their Governor.

I sincerely seek the vote of each and every elector, and at the same time, seek the community's full support, in other words, your support, for my endeavor. May the trykers be favoured with sweet winds!
