fyi: some 32-bits libraries needed to run the binary client in a 64-bits archlinux system

Added by danto over 4 years ago

Hi,

I'm running archlinux-x86_64 and just tried to run the binary client of ryzom before registering an account on the oficial server and notice that doesn't work out of the box without some 32 bits libraries.

I had to install:

  • lib32-libstdc++5
  • lib32-libxrandr
also needed but installed before:
  • lib32-libgl (or lib32-nvidia-utils if you're using nvidia propietary drivers)

After that, client just run flawlessly.

Maybe this info will be useful also for other GNU distro; already have no time to test.
I will test ingame performance asap

Thanks to all the Ryzom Team and its very great contribution to the society with this kind of business model! :)

HW (laptop):
  • nvidia 8400M GT with nouveau
  • 2 GiB RAM
  • Core 2 Duo 1.6 GHz
