Question on taking L3DT heightmap and inserting it onto a shard

So one other big question I had is - I have a heightmap built for our game world. My question is - I have yet to find a forum post or guide on how to take that heightmap and insert it onto the shard so we can view it and edit it on our end. Or am I going at this backwards - should I be doing it on my machine, and then upload it to the shard after the edits have been made?

Also, is there a discrete limit on the size of the game world that the Ryzom engine allows for? The map itself is large (1000 km x 1000 km) - However it has to be, when you have vehicles that can do 120 kph...
