About exporting ryzom assets to .fbx

Hiya

I have 3d studio max 2011, fresh install. What are the steps I need to take to import the models in 3d studio max and export them to .fbx model files? steps that can make it go smoothly.

I read that I need Nel plugins, why? will the models and assets rely on them even after I export them to .fbx? Then i read that i need to use a batch converter? So please, could anyone just point out the steps i need to take.

1. download assets..?
2. install NeL plugins for 3d studio max...?
3. run the converter script or so?

Please help. The last time I tried (almost six months ago) it was a total disaster and nothing worked, I admit i didn't know what I was doing back then or why.

The assets are max files.
You can download the assets here:

http://media.ryzom.com/

You will need NeL Max plugin to read those max files:
http://dev.ryzom.com/wiki/ryzom/InstallingMaxPlugins

The assets are old max format, you will have to convert those files :

I've done a full conversion and its still having texture issues. I even followed http://dev.ryzom.com/wiki/ryzom/Convertingryzom_assetsDatabase and his/her C drive script. Nothing really does fix it. When I try to export it I get the attached errors. Is there anyway at all to use the assets outside ryzom core?

Aw.. I followed them both very closely, several times on all my systems.. I still get the same errors as the one attached. For good measure I just went through them again, no luck.
