What bugs me the most right now, what is really getting on my nerves is GF's total absence of communication. And i'm being VEEEERY polite here...

* The targeting reticle should disappear when removing the interface for screen shots.
* Please use PNG instead of TGA for the high-quality shots.
* I would like an on-screen indicator of new in-game mail.
* It would be nice if there was an on-screen indicator when buddies sign on/off.
* Allow buddies to be added even if they are off line.
* Add the ability to zoom in and out with the keyboard. Possibly with these keys: "[" and "]"

And here's another disgruntled homin. The game bugs are nothing compared to complete silence on the part of the company. :(

O.o and i get jpegs as screenshots =)

Looks like absence of communication is sooo widely known that everyone tired to talk about it - i haven't even got any response on last bug i reported via in game dialog.... (realy think they make "new mega super organisation empowering strategy involving corporational aimed and so on thing" - after 6 months i think they will ruin game or drop that ideological work and start real work on game)

Other things not sure where they mentioned or not:
1) map bug when u don't see location of team members, see false locations (no tooltip popping on red homin mark on map)
2) empty places in team list window when someone leaves team

Also i can't see Public Profiles of users even being logged in :)

What bugs me the most today, is that the greatest MMO on the market never got the attention it truly deserved.

maybe the new owner is shy? all the flameing they read here would scare off any one who is not used to being told how to run thing...might even be that there afraid to give a finish date on something becuase they know that the hordes of flamers are lighting tourches and looking for them on the exact minute they think that a patch should be complete:confused:

A thread like this should have been locked long ago, it's nothing more than a place for players to rant and the Devs stopped reading it long ago.
Best bet is to start a new thread when we get a new owner, a fresh start is needed.

To be honest many of the bug-fixes/suggested-improvments listed in this thread are good, popular and much desired. While it may seem like the same-old-same-old they still haven't been implemented & are therefore still valid.

I think this thread would be an excellent resource and starting point for any new owner and it's dev team. While "troll fishing" doesn't do anyone any favors a bit of heated discussion acts as a community mood indicator.

A new owner deserves a chance but the community has been too soft in the past, tolerating a long list of poor patches & broken promises which didn't live up to expected standards. I'm surprised people have kept as calm and quiet for as long as they have, especially the old timers.

While we should give them a chance, they should also be considerate of what many of us have had to put up with over the years. It may not sound fair, but life isn't fair and we're running out of patience.

My main message to any potential buyer would be: If you haven't got the money to follow threw, get lost & save us both the misery. :p

why would a new company be worried aout the patiance of players that have stayed on since the beginning? pssst...i think there hooked already.

give them time to get there feet wet or it could end up like the last group that just jumped into the big black river,ya gotta feel your way in or you get swept off into the bankruptsy that ate up the founders and the saviours
shouldnt we just be glad we have a great big weed ball for now for me to master another tree in crafts?
and wait for them to open up new areas for us when there not all bugged out?

After years of lackluster development spanning two ownership transfers, there aren't nearly as many "hooked" players as there used to be... and obviously not enough to pay the bills as their numbers continue to decline. As a company I would definitely worry about that.

"lackluster" isn't the right description of nevrax's development. Nevrax was simply under funded and under maned. Kinda disrespectful to the devs who worked very hard. GF on the other hand could be said to have been "lackluster" in their support imo.

Beating a dead horse here, but it blows my mind how there can be such a complete lack of interaction between owner and client.

How hard could it POSSIBLY be, to create a TINY news page of ANY kind? At this point, even if all they posted was "No News to report" on a weekly basis, I know for a FACT myself and SO many others would eat that up. There are so many companies out there that neglect to do this! It has to be one of the most simple to create, least time invested kinds of things to do! And people would praise you!

At the very least, let us know you're alive!

Okay, what bugs me most about Ryzom...

First of all, the patching system. You have to run the program in admin mode. There is no other way since you had to integrate the patching process into the game.
The good implementation says "Server uses version XYZ.12, I have version XYZ.11, I have to load a patch, and only that patch has to run in Admin mode." That gives you maximum compatibility. Windows Vista is on the market for over two years now (SP2 was just released), Windows Seven will be here in a few months (October) - you HAVE TO ADAPT!

there used to be a "background downloader" program, but i don't see how giving that program rights differs from giving ryzom itself rights...

anyway, it was disabled, don't personally know why, but it's gone allright.
I myself always disabled it to be able to use dual clients.

What I dont support/like is the poor character control.
The character moves/responds very slowly to turn, walk and run commands.
As a matter of fact the character seems to be reacting like wood.
I have been playing many games, from Anarchy Online to Ryzom, and Ryzom is the only one where I have seen such a bad character control.

I believe it will do wonders if you guys could fix the character control and make the character more responsive

Re: Forums: What Bugs You The Most? (by Xavier Antoviaque)

I detest the new system of showing the levels of enemies, for these reasons (in no particular order):

1) We used to be able to tell at a glance the level of any enemy in a very close range. Now, we have to look at an annoying number that is much less intuitive

2) This system removes the ability to see the approximate level of mobs much higher than one's self, which is highly annoying given that mobs a few dozen levels higher than one's self are often the best ones for training.

3) For extremely experienced masters, who can still see all levels, things are not made much harder, but for newbies, things are much more annoying.

4) Often, an approximate knowledge of how deadly a super-high-level mob is is extremely useful. For example, do I let him hit me once before I activate Melee Protection Aura and Speeding Up Power, or do I activate those before he can get to me? It's a question many will need the answer to, especially when trekking through the Prime Roots.

Because of this system, training fight and magic will be much less fun and enjoyable.

Also, the tool-tip windows for actions are great for those who are not intimately familiar with their actions, but annoying for when I have mine memorized. There should be an option somewhere to turn them off.

Otherwise, I approve of the latest patch - great work!

Personally, i prefer the circle + dots + number over the rainbow box with stars.

Granted, i came in a week before the change and never got used to the stars. Some players have been years and thats what they are used to, and little changes like that, really annoy the crap out of older players. They just do. It would be like if they changed what source nodes look like for digging.

1.) You still have your precious colors, and two dots instead of two stars for tough kills.

2.) If you are in a team whose of an appropriate level intended for that boss... Then you get to see its level. And the level of the mats you'll get from it or anything that your team kills.

Go from the box to the circle and stop whining because its different.

That said, my only complain about this system is 10 levels range until skull is much too restrictive. it needs to be at 25 minimum for leveling characters, of which i hope you people would like to have more of. the middle class to buy your awesome goods and pay you for making things, new friends, and most importantly real life money for ryzom's continued existence.

The reason i suggest 25 beign the visible level range for a solo character is because its at about 25+ that stuff starts being able to resist/dodge/parry you simply for being higher level rather than its actual ability to do so. Thats about when it should be a skull telling people "You might be able to, but its probably going to be your doom."

25 is only 10% higher than the player level cap in this game anyway, so its not very much, while still being useful. 10, is much too small since most people trying to level in this game (and enjoy its high level activities and explorations and pvp) usually grind on things 15-25 levels higher than them and anything else is too much to deal with solo.

Each person in your team increasing the visible level range you have by 10 is a nice touch, and needs to stay. As you have help, you can handle things a bit tougher.

My vote is to keep it as it is, but improve it, not go back to a star or two. That told me NOTHING as a new player trying to get around and learn this complicated world.
