The Ring is going live today?? 9/20???

You went from alpha to beta to live in a week? Why do memories of September 2004 come to mind... *oh my head*

Alpha started in November, Closed beta was well over a month ago, open beta was a demo for the players, allow them to create scenarios before the pre-launch-live-two week thingy they have now, and fully live in 2 weeks I think?

*pauses for breath*

*hugs*

There have been players in Alpha testing of the Ring since November last year, the 1st of sept was when all ATS testers were let in, there was a seperate group of Ring testers.

Ring : ATS testers in the Ring Alpha by Marjo
Today is a great day in the history of the Ring! After lots of testing with the first waves of Alpha testers, opening to all the CSRs then to 40 lucky players, we now need even more players for testing on a larger scale.

We already gave access this week to 40 more active players and also to those who added their names to our list at the GC Leipzig. But today, with the opening of the Alpha to our 589 ATS (Advanced Test Server) testers, we're crossing another key point as it's the first time we'll welcome so many people on the Ring.

On September 1, it clearly states that they are opening the ALPHA to more testers.

Ring : Opening of Ryzom Ring Beta by Marjo
A special week is starting for Ryzom, it's birthday week! As you may already know, two years ago on the 16th of September, Ryzom went live and the first Homins could breath and run on Atys... But today is even more special as it also brings a very good and long awaited news: the opening of the Ryzom Ring Beta!
The Beta is reserved to our players who have a paying Ryzom account.

On September 11th, they clearly say they are opening the Beta. They clearly state that beta is for paying customers only. This is the day beta started.

as was already said: they had an internal alpha with players testing for almost a full year now. then they let more players in by allowing all ATS players in. as nothing exploded they are now letting normal players in as well for the beta...

what is so hard to grasp on this or so horrible a thing to do?

What's hard to grasp is they went from ALPHA to Live in 9 days.

err..so this thread is a preemtive..told u so...policy bash?..(yawn)

so its server test/debug/whatever (and who cares...) why dont you just run with what the company is doing and have some fun with it.

So what if they open and close the ring multiple times to do their testing..lets not forget there no Microsoft.

So why dont you get stuck into some scenario creative dialog ...get me in there and have lets have some fun with it while it lasts :D
