Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
I've been getting a rather unusual error:
http://img33.picoodle.com/data/img33...rm_0739963.jpg I started having this problem yesterday. My first problem was the patcher would give me a "patcher failed" message, and the client would be showing old patch info from august. Then I reinstalled and started getting this r2_login.php was not found on this server error. I have tried the repair utility, and reinstalling twice. When I reinstall I can log in fine once, then the next time I try I always get this error. Please help. :( Edit: Oh, I run on vista, and if I try to run as admin it tells me it cannot find "client_ryzom_rd.exe". |
Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
Could try delete client.cfg and run the patcher. Or just replace whats in the .cfg file with this:
Code:
StartupHost = "su1.ryzom.com:40916"; |
Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
Thanks I'll try it now, for the record here is what my cfg says now:
StartupHost = "su1.ryzom.com:40916"; StartupPage = "/login/r2_login.php"; InstallStatsUrl = "http://su1.ryzom.com:50000/stats/stats.php"; PatchServer = "http://dl.ryzom.com/patch_live"; InstallWebPage = "http://dl.ryzom.com/installer/"; It doesn't really look different though unless I'm missing something. I'm tired so that is entirely possible. Edit: Deleting the file didn't seem to make any difference. I still got the error pictured above. When I try to run the downloader it says, "Error impossible to load version infos. Please make sure your internet connection is operating correctly." Well, my internet is fine so it's not that. |
Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages

Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
Thank you!
That worked. While it's a bit of a pain to run it from a folder on my desktop, I'm willing to do so for such a good game. I really appreciate the help ajsuk and blaah. :) |

Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
Okay, so after a great deal of swearing and threats of violence Ryzom finally decided to work, joy. Imagine my surprise when I log out to go for a bowl of cereal and come back login fine, yep there's the character selection, there's my character, click play, screen fades to black and several seconds later I'm back on the character selection screen.
Reinstalled, tweaked just about everything tweakable, poked all the configs with a very sharp pointy stick and still no luck, what's the solution? |

I have choosen in my details LOW LOW and i desabled everything like in the FAQ but when i launch the game click on game configuration it opens the same configuration as the ryzom_game_configuration and there is no Syatem -> Game Configuratiom like in the FAQ and there is "no disable 'shadows' and 'microvegetation' and lower the 'LoD' clip distance sliders for 'Landscape' and 'Characters' if they are not already set to 'low' " :(( |
Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
Well re 4000 error message should be resolved now ... as for the game configuration problem they are options available from within the game not from the login configurator.
You might find this info useful ... http://forums.ryzom.com/announcement.php?f=15 And there usually is great help to be found in CeB :) |

Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
Hi.
I had a virus on my system, RYZOM was working fine before that and it wasn't even one of the files that got infected, but when I did a clean it stopped working (so did one or tow other games/programs but I just re-installed and they are fine). I took a screen shot of the error (no 30) it happens after I install and update but here is the text..." Can't execute 'updt_nl.bat':code=17 file exists (error code 30) ".:(:( edited >> ok so I finally got passed that (partially) and now have FV 1.3.1, I found the "Unpacked" folder and copied ALL files over, it logs and THEN ...what do you know, same error, BUT this time I don't seem to be able to get out of this loop.........................HELLLLLLLLPPPPPPPP |

You could try deleting your unpack directory. Then try again.
If that doesn't help you could also try deleting these files: data/*.string_cache data/*.packed_sheets save/string_client.pack That should do the trick |

Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
Hi there,
as you can imagine I am having an issue running Ryzom. I receive the following error message: A failed assertion occurs ProcName: client_ryzom_rd.exe Date: 2009/12/08 01:30:11 File: .\driver_direct3d.cpp Line: 2518 FuncName: NL3D::CDriverD3D::reset Reason: STOP ------------------------------- No log ------------------------------- I saw a similar display earlier in the thread and tried that solution but to no avail. It is not the same exact problem, so may I ask how to fix this error message? |
Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
ok, no error message at all..was working fine under windows 7 until new patch now gets to the checking...packedsheets.bnp file and freezes the computer. Unable to break out of game to kill it or anything.
I have to reboot computer to regain control. Still works fine on my xp computer but not this one:( |
Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
kozban
A freeze on the file checking might suggest a file corruption problem .. it may help if you delete the contents of %yourinstallpath%\Ryzom\unpack directory this will force a small redownload and install of the latest patch. You also mention all is fine in XP ..is this a dualboot and you are sharing a common game path or a completely different install? Mokoi SGM Arispotle |
Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
Getting message: "path not found for ryzom.ttf" no clue what this means. Launcher starts up (I patched by the way) and then poof it gives me this message and either sends me here to this thread or wants me to exit.
Did a search for .ttf, it stands for True Type font, had a look in the ryzom files, seems to be quite a few .ttf files. At any rate I uninstalled, am downloading again from a different server. Maybe it was a corrupt file...... Its almost 3 am my time, going to sleep!! lol |
Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
It seems it does not find the True Type Fonts of Ryzom.
What OS do you use? On Vista several complained using the default path into the c:\Program...\ Try to install then on a different Path/Partition of your hard drive instead. |
Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
Quote:
I don't use Vista..have refused to use Vista, I use good ol Win Xp. Downloaded from server 1 this time and now I get this error message when attempting to install...the second time: Ryzom Setup: Error opening file for writing: C:\Program Files\Nevrax.url So it seems to me...and I am talking to you Winchgate, that you need to investigate the validity of these files being offered, as it seems that thus far...two (one from server one) and the other from Direct (Bead window) the one with the .ttf error..are faulty. If you wish people to at least try your game, please investigate and make sure these files are valid for downloading, otherwise I am sure..you are turning people away inadvertantly. I am going to search the Net and see if I can find the file I used originally back a year or two ago, to install Ryzom. The other suggestion I would like to make is...offer up a clean uncorrupted client file to Fileplanet..that place gets alot of traffic for free games, try and buy and the like. Fileplanet is where I originally discovered Ryzom in November 2004. ** Edit .I don't have a partitioned drive, so tried the client file again by installing to the "My Games" folder..thus far the request has gone through and is installing ..will update here if it stalls on me again. A couple more things, the client file landed on my desktop...it shouldn't land there ..have downloaded alot of files over the years, so I am going to remove that to one of my two download folders inside Windows Explorer. Other thing...as the client moved to the password screen, it refused to allow me to put my password in, til I accessed the update area...and there it was able to affirm my first month's subscription has already been paid. I am writing this in case someone else is having the same problems, so they know what steps I took..to have some success. Will keep this updated with end results. UPDATE: The client refused to go any further.......ttf error. I did play this game before I am positive the only problem I had installing it before was attributed to ports. This .ttf error is new. |

Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
The strange part is..I have looked in the folder and the ryzom .ttf file is there...its just not seeing it. Will try your suggestion thanks.
LOL nevermind.....I noted that the ryzom .ttf file was not in the fonts folder..but in the unpack folder. For some reason it refuses to unpack. SOooooooo....I copied it from the unpack to the font folder, password screen came up....wish me luck. *sigh* nevermind that just causes a launch loop...with me having to confirm subscription each time. I originally suggested some months back that a way to promote Ryzom would be to add a new client to Fileplanet, in my net searches I found that was indeed done as of August last year I think it was. So currently downloading the client AGAIN this time it takes 15 minutes instead of four hours.... I've tried the other posters suggestion, but that only gives me yet another .ttf error. Not sure why this is coming up...I could visit Microsoft and see if this .ttf font error is somehow on my end....as it seems I am getting it from every client file I've tried thus far. Will uninstall, do a regedit of the former Nevrax registry listing. Then check with Microsoft..then attempt installing the client file from Fileplanet...hopefully..this will work, other than that, I don't know ..I am not geeky enough to figure whats wrong. LOL Checked with Microsoft and it seems they no longer support truetype font.. they have a new version vttf. I guess geared for Windows 7. Only Apple Computer supports truetype font..but thats for a Mac. Still cannot get this working and now I have about 3 different places on my computer with partial installs of Ryzom. Those spots are not manually deleteable as they are write protected, therefore taking up unwanted and unneeded room on my hard drive. And still even with the new download from Fileplanet..I keep getting errors, this time it can't find the client_ryzom_rd.exe file inside Windows explorer. Uninstalled, reinstalled this time to desktop as it doesn't like C:/Program files for some reason...that gives me an error message about the Nevrax url. Still getting "unable to find path for ryzom .ttf even though its sitting in the unpack folder. Guess its not meant to be..unless someone has a work around or can link me to the unpacked ryzom .ttf file possibly? I could maybe copy paste that into the font folder..and maybe it would behave itself. Other than that I am no geek, and one other thing....is there actually technical support here..or just a forum that, if you're lucky someone might answer you..if not no answer at all? |

btw, stop downloading as you already have the installer and stop trying to find solution for .ttf file in microsoft page. ryzom patcher fails (because ryzom folder is read-only probably). for support, http://www.ryzom.com/en/support.html |

Yeah I did a system restore..that helped get rid of the extra partial game files..was able to remove them after. Am currently using only the installer from Fileplanet, and someone gave me some ryzom fonts to install into the correct folders, will see if that solves the problem. Last install was able to do normal default install into C:\Program files ..etc Will install fonts and see if that helps at all. Thanks :) WELL...well well well......guess what worked for this problem? Deleting all the files in the unpack folder. So instead of patching 13 mbs of data it patched 12...for some reason it looks like it was giving me too much data ...LOL I am currently looking at my character screens...first time. PROBLEM SOLVED after two days of uninstalling reinstalling and basically tearing my hair out. Is this a test to see if you are really serious about playing Ryzom? hehehe if so..I WIN!! :P See you ingame. lol |
Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages

Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
Jeepster - could you tell us when this error occurs please? Do you get to see the title screen? Select a char maybe? Or even get into the game, then crash?
This could be potentially be a tricky one. "Runtime Error" failures are generally either the game doing something it shouldn't (I've had a couple of game crashes with a runtime error), or an old version of the C++ runtime being installed. If you've re-installed Ryzom several times, I'm thinking it's more likely to be the C++ runtime giving you problems. As a quick test/potential fix, you could download the following directly from the Microsoft Download Centre: Visual C++ 2008 Redistritbutable Package This is the latest version, and will hopefully do the trick. If you prefer to visit the MS site and find this file yourself (link paranoia :) hehe), go the download centre and use "c++ runtime" as your keywords, then download the package I described above. I don't think you need to restart once it's installed, but do so if it prompts you to. Then try running Ryzom again. If you still get the same runtime error in the same place, that *should* rule out the runtime system itself, and point towards Ryzom misbhevaing for some reason. That will require more testing/thought to find an answer, but there are plenty here who can help out :) Eliminating the runtime itself is probably the first step you should take. |
Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
thanks for the info, ive been using CeB as well and they have been trying to help

Re: [SUPPORT] List of the main error messages
also the runtime error appears while the game tries to load. the login screen comes up, but before the actual green menu where you type in your login appears, the error occurs and the game closes.
