Is this Forum dead??? No! Read this!
The most important news is the new forum. People often think the game is dead because those forums here seem to be.
But that's absolutely not the cause! All the fun happens at the new web application based forums, accessible with this link http://atys.ryzom.com/start/index.php Even unsubscribed Accounts can post there, so be sure to check it out! arc |
Re: Is this Forum dead??? No! Read this!
Yes, but people without any account, trying to figure out what the gane is cannot access that, they can only read this forum, that's why i don't use internal general forum (except the guild section) and only post here.
Most people try to understand if a game suits them lurking the official forums... |

ryzom web app's should be more highlighted on the website. it need a better name, and a cool button. web apps like this are something i didn't see in any other MMO. WG could and should advertise with them.

Said it 500 times now, the app forums need to be made accessible to the public, read-only at the very least so that the outside world can actually tell what's going on in the community.

Only 500 times? Hmmmm... seem to recall much more than that.. But, you are correct, people should be able to read, at least. |

Absolutely agreed with the Jayce :) I hadn't actually checked ingame, but I read somewhere on these forums that "the forums are accessible ingame", and I assumed it meant these forums. So I didn't bother checking that out, because no ingame forum implementation will ever be as full-featured and comfortable to use as something like vBulletin in a full browser. I've now checked out these "other" forums, and really like whole idea. But they definitely need to be more visible to new players, and openly promoted as a tool for interacting with the existing community. As they currently stand, they are basically a way for the current community to discuss the game in a very closed fashion - and any comments of "the main forums make the game look dead", are absolutely accurate. I looked in the beginner forum yesterday, and due to the default "show posts of age" setting, I only see the stickies. Yes, I can change the age value and see them all - that doesn't change it from negative to positive, in terms of a new players' experience. |
Re: Is this Forum dead??? No! Read this!
I've been back about 2 weeks, would have been sooner but like many others I use the activity on the forums to judge the state of a game.
So if there's nothing being discussed in the forum you think the game is practically dead, and therefore pointless returning. At one point the posts almost dried up completely. You search Google, you end up at Ryzom News page, then you access this forum. As far as anyone knows outside of the game this is the main forum. Even though it no longer is. So if you want to attract new people to come and try the game. There does need to be forum activity. |
Re: Is this Forum dead??? No! Read this!
Ideally these and the RP boards would be merged in to the new ones also, and perhaps a new poll/feedback app to replace the current feedback system, thus centralising everything.
Most-everyone I know is sick and tired of needing multiple accounts to log in to all this junk. |

Amen to that, cant believe all the different places for stuff these days, when I got directed to yet another place to make a suggestion and it asked me to register and I cant post what i was thinking but I did'nt bother. IMO this forum here as it already exists should have been tweaked to be accessable in the new fashion. |
Re: Is this Forum dead??? No! Read this!
Well, according to the feedback site, seems the devs are working on merged forum. Or, at least, the "accepted" section shows they have started it.
