No relaunch after patch
I downloaded/installed the new patch today, and when I clicked the Relaunch button afterwards, the window disappeared and the game didn't start again in a new one.
(Oh, and there was something I don't think I've seen before about checksums not corresponding in the patch progress window, so maybe that's related?) Any ideas what I might have to do to play Ryzom again? |
Re: No relaunch after patch
You have tried starting Ryzom normally using the shortcut?
If so, does the file client_ryzom_rd.exe exist in your Ryzom install directory? If it's there, try double clicking on that. |
Re: No relaunch after patch
If client_ryzom_rd.exe is missing from your installation directory, you can get it here ftp://ftp.ryzom.com/1103091513_client_ryzom_rd.zip

Re: No relaunch after patch
We suspect this is caused by some antivirus programs blocking the creation of the new files of the patch. AVG and Norton are the current ones.
Disabling the antivirus before patching should prevent the issue. Don't forget to re-enable afterwards :) |
Re: No relaunch after patch
What operating system are you on gyroido ?

FYI, Zone Alarm picked up the new files and popped up a dialog asking me what I wanted to do, clicking the "OK Ryzon is cool" checkboxes (3 of em) allowed the launch....ya might not see such things if playing in ful screen mode |
Re: No relaunch after patch
Disabling AVG did the trick for me. Thanks Syw.

Re: No relaunch after patch
Groan.
New patch, and the problem's back. And this time, using client_ryzom_rd.exe doesn't work anymore. So how would I disable AVG? Haven't done it before and can't find an obvious way to do it (oh, and I'm using Vista). |
Re: No relaunch after patch
Huh, now it does work.
(I'd still like to know how to disable AVG though, might come in handy next patch ;)) |
