I agree with all of your ideas, just want to point that you can in fact activate self heals and auras while crafting (
Or at least there is a workaround).
Not sure about other things since I don't usually pay attention to my surroundings while crafting. It is true that you can't use the mouse to do so, but
you can use the keyboard just fine.
