I got free boxes of food when I lived in USA as I wasn't entitled to welfare...we got carrots and peanutbutter and this horrible white stuff called grits.
My huuby was a state employee so he took into his boss to show them what we'd been reduced to.
My kids loved carrots with peanutbutter spread!
