Dappers are pretty useless in the game, the main currency is crafting materials, I'm not sure of your level of forage is, but most likely, the materials you dig, would be a bit low quality for the person crafting your amps, on saying that, to dig anough materials to make your amps, would just take a few minutes, so it would be no hardship on anyone to give them free
