Well, thank <insert divinity here> that it's not quest-based, because missions are so poorly designed that frankly they are not even remotely worth the trouble.
Mainly it's that the only "challenge" is mindless exploration/mapping/searching without any clue or indication of where to go. Actually, to be honest there seems to be two types: the one which puts the target on your map (and is thus completely idiotic, since it requires no brain at all), or the one which gives no indication at all (find "something") which is a matter of searching randomly until you hit the right spot/mob/material (and is thus completely idiotic, since it requires no brain at all).
A good addition would be hints (search on an isle which is heart-shaped, look for it near the mountain which looks like this-or-that, go in the gorge which houses the <tribe name>). This would allow the mission to at least require you to look at the map or surroundings and use one (or maybe two) neurons
Considering the current state of affairs, I consider these "spoiler" guides the only motivation to even give a try at missions.....
