The Linksys thing again. Any word?
Getting the disconnects every 5-10 mins or so. Was wondering if there was any word on a fix other than screwing with Port Forwarding or anything else. If Im forced to make any router changes I will have to pass on what looks to be a great game. The router isnt mine, and honestly every other online game I play works without a hitch. Been kinda psyched to get into Ryzom, but this disconnect problem has been a major bummer. Thanks.

Re: The Linksys thing again. Any word?
LinkSys routers have always been a problem with a lot of games and applications, not just Ryzom. The only solution we have for working with Ryzom is to make sure the game ports are forwarded into your LAN. And in some cases putting the PC into the DMZ (which are both solutions for other games and apps.)
In fact one ISP in the US supplies an open source firmware replacement to fix some of the NAT (network address translation) quirks of the LinkSys routers. |
