a few questions from a noob
1: why are almost every section closed?
2: waht are the major diff between the races? (apart from looks) 3: can u transform in this game? that would be awsome i want to be able to merge those kind of transform-items, and create a new thing, like fish + human = a few differnt alternatives u can choose from, like mermaid, or maybe some kind of amfibus thingy hehe just my wacko ideas ^^ |

Wild guess here: You're on a trial account? If so, you'll get access to the other sections when you subscribe. If not... I dunno. Quote:
A few natural resistances are different, and your starting levels of fame with certain groups. Other than that, just looks. Quote:
Um... no? Quote:
Wacko ideas are fine, no worries. You might want to spend some time learning about the game, and then if you have some great or even wacko ideas, post them in the feedback forum. You can find a link to that on the Ryzom home page, or just go straight there: http://feedback.ryzom.com Welcome to Atys! |

you are leveling the skills. so for example: you want to be a warior, than get a sword and just be one. first you skill your overall fighting skill, than you start to specialize. you can specialize in using melee or on the oposite site - ranged weapons. let us see into the melee tree: after you reached level 50 the skill tree splits into 3 specialized branches - 1 handed - 2 handed - close combat so we grab a sword and a shield and start skilling 1 handed fight. we reach level 100 and we can specialize again and again and again until you get 1 handed sword mastery, or mace, or axe or whatever. of course you can grab any other weapon and start to skill it, or even get an magic amplifier and start to be a magician at any time! everything is open to you! no boundaries. welcome on atys |

There is no "character level" per se, though for some things the highest level skill you have is considered to be your level (like for fitting clothes and jewelry). Each skill can be maxed out to 250 given time, and each tree you see branches a few times before getting there. I've not counted the total number of branches in the end, but there are a few dozen. |
