HELP: I cant get Ryzom to run ?!?

I followed the steps of the install process but for some reason, when i start the game, i get the blueish Ryzom 'window' and then my whole system freezes up ... i recently bought a new computer (XP home), could it be the computer is to advanced ? (quad core amd/2gig ram/Geforce 9800 GT)

As im behind a router, so i did make sure all the sugested ports are open so thats unlikely to be it.

If i run the downloader it says the install is valid ...

So, what can it be :/ ... is there a log file where i can read what is going on during the loading of the game? or should i just wait 2 to 3 days for the patch to come out and come back here and cry if it doesnt work again

P.S.: I seriously doupt that any system could be "too advanced" for Ryzom
A possibility lies in Beta-Drivers for your Graphic-Card though. Checked these?

Hi there, tnx for the respons and the warm welcome (atleast to this site :P ) ... i checked the tech support and hoped switching to direct3d might do the trick, unfortunatly, the moment i start the configuration program, the blueish window pops up and my system freezes again

I also tryed a fresh install and run the game; this did produce a log file. Besides from some missing files all goes well untill it is trying to connect to the login server :

So this is either because there is something still wrong with my router/firewall ? or because something else causing my computer to freeze, causing a timeout msg ?

Like Acridiel said, you might try to log in to CeB, so the CSR might help you more easily...

(I noticed firewalls really hate MMO's, so alt-tab helps to check if your firewall needs attention...)

You definitely got the wrong loginserver in your config. (It's the old one)
You need to run the fix, or download the latest version available of the game.
(I don't have the link, though. You will find relevant info in the forums.)

Ok, i also posted my problem in the support part of the board (perhaps the best place for it in the first place) and I managed to fix the problem by indeed put in the new server details (in both client.cfg and client_default.cfg) and (personally i think this solved it) change the "Auto" sellect gfx into using direct3D .. after that i managed to log in, make a character, and im now running around having fun
