Did anyone else notice the post on the french forum indicating they've an iPhone app for Ryzom?

I mean don't get me wrong. I love my Nexus... but, portable Ryzom.

VL says to him it looks like a Screenshot-Wallpaper, nothing more.
And I too find it a bit strange that the person who allegedly built it, doesn´t tell the com. how its done and just shows off a picture of his/her iphone.

That´s a bit too little evidence for my taste.
Would surely be cool though

The IPhone owner said, that he/she used a VNC connection from the IPhone to the PC. With VNC you can control the PC remotly. But it was to slow to play with it, because the graphics transfered took to long to update.
(At least this is what google let me understand *g* - i don't speak or read french at all)

That's the same they did with WoW and other MMOs too. Since dektop remotes are not meant for gaming, you will have very bad video playback results as well as laaaaaaaaag. I tried once with my notebook and my pc using a LAN connection... even that was very bad

I heared about a company though that wanted to offer such remotes for MMOs. The game would run on their servers and you just connect to them with your iPhone app. Not sure if that is still developed or even released.

Such a system would be of necessity a very bad breach of security as you'd have to supply them with your account information.
They log in (automated), parse all the data, and your mobile device gets just enough of it to enable you to do things.

Sounds like an ideal way for gold farmers and account thieves to get into peoples' accounts.
