Loading Page Hangs

Hiya! I keep having the following issues:

When I die and respawn the loading page hangs and takes too long to process over to the respawn area.

When I exit the game the loading page hangs endlessly and the music (or world sounds) continues to play even though I'm no longer in world. In order to end and exit I have to execute ctrl+alt+delete and use the task manager.

When I log in game, in the character selection instance, the music has static - and hangs during loading, even skips or loops. Once in world the sound returns to normal. Also if I try to exit through the character selection instance, or the login page the exit button doesn't work.

What I've already done:

I read the stiky notes and opened all ports to Ryzom, including giving total access to client_background_downloader_rd.exe, and client_ryzom_rd.exe. I have switched to Direct3d since I have an Nvidia card. All drivers are up to date. I'm also running all graphics at Normal set up.

My System: MW XP Serv. pk 3, 4CPU 2.80GHz/279GHz, 2.50GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GS 256MB.

I'm not new to Ryzom, played a few years ago with the same system and didn't have these problems, would like to solve the issues as best we can, so that it doesn't influence my decision to sub. BTW I like the improvements so far.

I've been able to fix most of my issues but now everytime I loot (quarter) I get pls wait message and start to lag. If I'm in world for about an hour the lag progresses to the point where I have to relog. Funny though, when I enter the world the game runs smooth. I'm still being forced to use the task manager to quit game. The exit window goes in 'Not Responding' mode and simply hangs there endlessly. This only happens with Ryzom. I don't experience it with any other game, program, or anything online and offline. I even tried shutting off my firewall and Anti-virus programs but it didn't change anything. I'm open to suggestions and would like to fix or minimize the issues because I'm not going anywhere.

I am interested in what you did to solve the problems.

Sorry to see you are having trouble. I am unsure of what could cause the rest of the problems you are having. I would like to ask you to download and install the CeB support chat software (http://chat.ryzom.com/ceb_ryzom_setup.exe) and talk to me or one of the other CSR's. Perhaps we can solve your problem interactively.

Thanks for the reply Sywindt. I'll get on client and hopefully we can try to find a solution. Sengosha tried to help but we've been unable to figure out the problem. I've not done anything special; defragmented disk, set up a new restore point and deleted old ones, uninstalled programs I don't use, uninstalled and resinstalled Ryzom, and updated drivers using Driver Max, simple PC maintanence. The only change so far is that I can stay in game longer without lagging too much, but there are times when I have to relog to ease the lag issue. I'm still being forced to use the task manager to exit game because ryzom does not respond and hangs. The loot problem I was having started when I switched from auto to direct3d, I also started to get disconnected, switching to openGL solved this problem.

Big thanks to Sengosha and Sywindt for their help with my issues;

It seems that Ryzom's executable file was set to compatibility mode and this was causing Ryzom to hang when I exit game, when I respawn, and with game sound/music. We fixed the problem by going into properties, then compatibility tab, and unchecked compatibility mode in both the Ryzom shortcut and executable file.

I thought I shared this here in case anyone else experiences the same problems.

I have an account i log in, made a character, pressed play, and it hangs at the loading screen. please help.
