Known branch or revision with most features working?
Added by sm3 over 4 years ago
I've noticed that just downloading the most current revision may not be the best course of action if you are just trying to get a somewhat stable server/client going to learn how things work.
Is there a specific branch or revision that I could pull where:
1) compiles on Windows
2) most of it works
It seems that Winchgate must have had a working codebase when they released it and all the various changes starting happening?
Pulling revision 1,2 or 3 didn't do the trick :)
I hope I'm not asking for too much. I do realize this is a free project.
Thanks,
sm3

Currently, there is no STABLE branch because we are under heavy development :)
Wait for 0.8.0 finale if you need almost all bugs fixed :)

Hi Kervala,
Understood. I definitely can wait. I have a lot of stuff on the art side to learn.
The source compiles for me fine on Windows with no issues, just you never know what is not going to work after you finish compile and setup everything in the current state ;)
Thanks again,

There are 2 major improvements on air:
- cmake project generation for all OS (suppression of the old VS++ solution),
good results so far, but some script to update to keep the build friendly.
- an official patch has been published recently for the client/server,
so it will take some time to merge the code.

Thanks for the update. If anything the current state of things is forcing me to delve deeper, learning a little more in the process. It's just not the best use of my time currently though.
I will watch and wait. It seems to be coming along nicely though. CMake works well with my particular setup.
