Compile warnings and server working?
Added by Speedz about 5 years ago
A question for those that have been able to get a successful compile and working server (being able to log onto your server with your compiled client) on any version but specifically A compile on Win7 64bit.
Do you still end up with hundreds of compile warnings and it still runs correctly? I get a successful compile but over 1k warnings over the entire project. Yet still no connection from a local client nor the web admin.
Also is there anyone that does have a good windows compile willing to post working binaries for people that want to just play with world building that can't seem to get the server compiled and working?

I am on the 64bit stuff under win7 for some days now.
The results are moderate, we still have lots of changes to the code.
There are still tons of type conversation warnings and with them, fixes to be done.
I say, give it some days.
For now it seems, this project focuses on things like portability (cmake), bugfixing and stuff like remove double declarations in config files.
Have a look at the roadmap (http://dev.ryzom.com/projects/ryzom/roadmap)
Once the 0.8.0 is done, it should compile fine and binary packages will be available for different OS's.
People actually working hard to get all this done.

Fair enough. I was just wondering if all my compiler warnings may be causing a successful build but a non connect issue.
As I am a little anxious to get working on world building I just tossed out the question of binaries in case someone was willing at this venture this far.
But I understand that there are bugs and sorting out to do. Just wish I could do more at this point to help this thing along.
