Ryzom

I made a foray to Linux today. The compile went well, I had to make a few adjustments:

ran make install from build/bin to place the binaries in the right places (/usr/local/sbin) had to add /usr/local/lib to /etc/ld.conf.so and modify shard.screen.rc based on the post in the forums.

Once that was done I ran shard start and for the first time I was able to login with webtool and see my services running! It seems, however, that some services were in a chain crashing state. ryzom_backup_service being one. The service is not producing any log files so I'm not able to find a reason.

Anyone have a similar issue? At least 5 services were in chain crashing state.

I'm also running a separate database from the server.
