problem with the client disconnection? ahh :(

Added by stevepage1 almost 4 years ago

i have searched the forums for a solution to my problem, and found some information, but nothing really helped.

i am running the binaries of the client and server found on the wiki page.

the server is running on windows xp and the client on vista.

i can access the admin page fine, and i can also login and create the user (by connecting 4 times) but before the character creation page it tells me i have to wait 30 seconds if i just logged out, the connection has been disconnected.
if you need any log files or configuation files il will be more than happy to oblige.

thank you very much

Could you provide us with client.cfg (client side), frontend_service.log and frontend_service.cfg (server side) ?
Could you give us the ip of your machines ?

I have the same problem... using Server2go everything works perfectly on my server...
but when I try to play from another computer I can login, but "can't connect" to get to the
character screen...
Changed localhost IP's to the local server IP, client is always in the same segment...
(Actually use the exact same client settings on the server machine as on the other computers)

frontend_service.cfg (1.3 kB)

client.cfg (332 Bytes)

You MUST have the exact same IP/Domain in client.cfg and frontend_service.cfg
In your case, if the ip of the shard is 192.168.13.11,
you will have:
StartupHost = "192.168.13.11:40916"; in client.cfg
FSListenHost = "192.168.13.11"; in frontend_service.cfg

It's not related to Server2Go but the server settings.
