Yes, you have 2 choices :

- use CMake to generate VC++ 2005 projects

- change version numbers :

• in .sln

Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File, Format Version 10.00

to

Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File, Format Version 9.00

• in .vcproj

Version="9.00" 

to

Version="8.00" 

And it should work :)

not to be an idiot but what program do I use to change the version numbers?

Personally, I use Notepad++ and use the "find in all files" dialog to replace a string by another in all files :)
