a fake opensim and ryzom

Added by bristle almost 7 years ago

suppose someone could write a fake opensim to handle the protocols and streaming, could there be an opensim ryzom?

opensim is like second life except it is open source. the clients use second life client and have their own features. there is none that is really game-oriented. but i have seen unity and panda3D with opensim and i know that games companies are now doing streaming graphics.

the big features of opensim is that it is open source with included protocols. and it has hypergrid, the ability to to jump to other grids.

ok, there are some hard parts to do including animations, collada, npcs. the major part is to leave ryzom alone and work on the fake opensim and the converters.

actually it would be a fake opensim-ryzom server. like this:

opensim life fake part | ryzom fake part

opensim protocols <> ryzom protocols

stream graphics <> regular graphics

animation<> ryzom animation

npc? <> ryzom npc system

and the converters for all the parts.
