Running the client on Win7/Vista

I downloaded the client from:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/ryzom/files/ryzom_client_open.7z/download

Both on Vista and Win7 I get this error:
A failed assertion occurs
ProcName: client_ryzom_r.exe

According to:
http://www.ryzom.com/en/system-requirements.html
it should run under both Win7 and Vista

any explanations?

DirectX installed, no problem.

I have same problem. Official client works but open source client send me thos error.

New DirectX solves this problem.
