Race-based Animations [Poll Results]

The results to our second poll regarding the implementation of the new, race-based animations are now available.

Quote:
Production: Second Referendum Results on the Racial Animations

The detailled racial animations referendum ended and, as previously announced,
we will rework the animations where there is a majority of 'no' votes.
Three animation sets will thus be affected: Fyros male sit, Tryker male
run/walk, Matis male sit and Matis female sit.

The other new animations will be set as default animations soon, and the
temporary switch used for this referendum removed. Thanks to everyone
who has participated to the vote !

The results are available under the following address: http://www.ryzom.com/?page=news&id=1477

Yay! Nevrax made a great choice here.

Re: Race-based Animations [Poll Results]

I think you should go further personally. Is a simple majority of people content enough to make you happy? The Fyros and Zorai walk/run animations were very close. When you count in people voting who didn't play those races, it looks bad.

I think Nevrax should aim a little higher and rework those whether you patch them live or not.

and a similar pole would be good with the old magic animations.

Personally I think this should have been done as an in game poll (like the surveys they used to have in beta). That way people could only vote on there OWN race.

Put it this way, are there really 349 people playing Zorai characters?? I don't think so.

If you count in player that have an alternate char that is Zorai, then maybe there are that many player.

I for my part like the new animation on my Zorai alt.

Especially since the Zorai run animation is really really hideous, and I was forced to turn the thing off after a couple of hours because I just couldn't stand it any longer. They've gone from graceful to moving like the "Iron Giant".

And now this is going to be permanent. Oh joy.

Re: Race-based Animations [Poll Results]

Ok I admit I'm silly but I hated most of the animations (good thing Tryker males aren't affected by this) So I would love to have a choice as I really don't want to look at all those homins bouncing up and down like they got springs in the soles of their shoes.

So why remove the switch? From what I've seen the votes are very close on much of the animations so there are still a lot of people who don't like them so keeping the switch seems only fair? Or maybe rework it so people can still choose but now their choice will become visible for other players. (I know that this will probably be much harder to code but it would allow for more character cumstomization..)

Doin a count of the people in the original poll (you know, the one Nevrax did an end run around ), there were 879 votes.

If you add up the votes for the 4 male walk polls there were a lot more than that. So either a lot more people voted this time, or people voted for categories other than their character's race.

I agree with Machieltje, it's what I've been saying all along. Why not leave the switch in and let us have a choice?

The high numbers partly derive from this being vote open to all three servers in one poll.

Re: Race-based Animations [Poll Results]

just leave the switch in.

oh i'm sorry, What am i saying, leaving the Switch in would give the players a choice, i dont think Nevrax will do that, they havent in the past, just remove all polls and just tell us what we're getting, when a Poll count is close, obviously a good Majority do NOT like it, but hey, they dont matter. Do what you like, thats what always happens anyway.
