Hey! You need to worry too much there, both the Fyros and the Tryker are quite fond of their pubs, ale, fire-wine, and roasts are all to be had... :D

Well, I'm Balto. Yep, that's my name. It's my name cause that's what name I was given when I was born.

I'm Fyros. I'm Fyros cause that's what my parents were. It tends to work like that, or so I'm told. It's probably a good thing that I was born Fyros, because, as everyone knows, the Fyros are the good guys.

So, that's me. Balto of Pyr. Or maybe I'll be Balto the Fyros. Or maybe something more complicated like Balto the Fyros of Pyr.

I am a Korai named Wrython and I have returned from the countless eons in the abyss to which I was banished by an evil and powerful Mystic. Don't ask how I got out...it wasn't pretty.

My time in the warped plane of the Abyss has granted me a natural affinity for spellcasting, but my first love has always been the clash of steel upon steel.

While I am mild manored, the time spent in the Abyss has left my mind foggy and twisted. If you manage to befriend me, I will always bee there for you...if you cross me however...

Re: Introduce Your Character!

In game, you will see that people call me "Avenir".

I was born at a very young age.

When I was very young, people would poke fun at me, saying "he can't even talk."

Despite the odds, I learnt to talk and I learnt to walk. Unfortunately, it was a mektoub that taught me to walk. This explains my awkward gait.

I remember when I cast my first elemental magic spell. It wasn't on purpose, I just sneezed. Unfortunately, I sneeze in sets of five, so that was the end of the suckling yubo that was my only care-giver and guardian. I wept over the corpse of my dear mother, but it was through my tears that I learnt the discipline of optimism. In my mind I still recall the hope that I saw in the carcass of mummy. Thus I learnt to always quarter, and thus to craft; I still wear a piece of mummy on my left ankle.

"His mother was a yubo," I hear you mock. But I stand defiant, for it was a yubo that took me in, and sheltered me, and nurtured me. And although I may have slaughtered many cousins and distant relatives in my wanton pursuit of power, I can feel each family member within me, in my very loins, and if you ever have the misfortune to be at the other end of my elemental magic, and you will feel each yubo nibbling at your bones until the cold, cold ice of death clutches at your heart, and your only comfort is the operatic tones of the music of death.

Indeed, each yubo that I slaughtered, be it my brother, my sister, my uncle Lex, or a family member that I recognised not, whether I slaughtered on purpose, or due to hayfever, each yubo is the spark of electricity in my very veins.

Due to the pain that it caused me to kill my own family members in the pursuit of greater power in the area of elemental magic, I made a solemn vow and promise: that my feet would never leave the gritty earth on which they trod.

That is why you will never see me jump.

It takes great skill. It takes great skill, I tell you, to slice up a vegetable, but once I discovered them I could no longer have my fill of simple yubo meat, I trod the lonely vegan way. It requires cunning, foresight, and dexterity to slay a slaveni, stab a psykopla, or catch a cratcha. Verily, verily, it takes great skill.

A pivotal moment in my development came when I discovered the Green Seed. These little midgets taught me the lust of power, and I have remained scarred ever since. Manku introduced me to them, and since that moment I have enjoyed their destruction long after it afforded me any reward.

I remember the day when I finally joined the guild 'Infinity'. 'Twas a stroke of destiny.

I had been reflecting on the number "one". If one adds one to one, one makes two. I am comfortable with his proposition. But if one adds one to one more than once, many times more than once, what is the answer? All paths lead to Infinity. No matter how far one travels, one is never closer, and yet in a way we are all members of Infinity, in a way we are all on the way.

To conclude my introduction, I present you with this story:

There is a yubo, a mektoub and a frahar. They are in intense discussion over who is the most attractive.

The yubo says 'I am cute and sweet.'

The mektoub says 'I have a long and impressive snout.'

The frahar says 'I look like your granny has come back from the dead to stalk you.'

Remember to smack ponies. Ponies are bad. They should be smacked.

Pleased to meet you fine people,

Avenir

Greetings

My character name is Krysalyss (chris-a-liss). She is a Tryker and still on newbie island. She wants to specialize in melee fighting. Harvesting is definitely her weak point since she's very impatient. She cute and is here playing with her boyfriend Kavad (also new and Tryker). Both of us were born on Jan. 10th.

Re: Introduce Your Character!

Samardnaz, Homin, Citizen of the Desert.

I awoke in a strange desert camp, dressed in nought but rags, and titled "Refugee" by one who called himself "Welcomer". I know not how I arrived here, or where I came from. I'm not even sure of my own name, 'though the Welcomer assures me its Samar d'Naz. By luck I managed to survive that first day, a day spent running errands for this Welcomer. I spent a moon-cycle in this place, learning fighting and magic skills, earning dapper by digging raw materials out of the ground. Somehow, I don't think this is what I did "before", where ever and when ever "before" was. Eventually I happened upon a skinny little Priest, one of the Kami or so I've been told, who offered to send me to the great lands of my people, the Fyros. I accepted his offer, and found myself in the desert city of Pyr.

.

In the cycles since, I've decided that I don't like the city life, and I spend much of my time wandering the deserts honing my survival skills, and occasionally harvesting raw materials to sell in the city for Dapper. I haven't much need for Dapper, at least not yet, but I have acquired some reasonable armour and weapons. I've met many other Homins, and based on what I see in their faces, and in the reflection of my own face in my blade, I must agree that I am indeed of Fyros blood. I've worked side by side with members of all homin races, cooperation seems a requisite skill for survival in this land. I don't understand this talk of war, of gods fighting gods, of Homin killing Homin in the name of their gods. Doesn't seem very smart in light of all the non-homin species that are trying to kill us at every turn. Cooperation, now that I understand.

.

I met one called Rashan one day, he challenged me to prove I have what it takes to be a member of this guild called Samsara, though the comparison of my ruggedly handsome visage to the pale ugliness of a sand maggot makes me question his visual acuity. After pondering the question for many days, even asking others I met about this Rashan character and the guild of Lady Kostika, I decided there might be some benefit to joining with the Samsara, if only to learn what skills this Rashan character might be able to teach me.

.

To make a longer story shorter, I joined the Guild Samsara and survived the "personal touch" of Drill Master Rashan. I can usually be found wandering the desert, mucking for mats or gleefully clubbing the Bugs. Occasionally I'll run errands for a Welcomer or a Corporal, but mostly I wander, and observe. If you're in the Desert, you may see me. I may even see you...:)

Re: Introduce Your Character!

I m moyaku,

A rather tall Tryker, between 25 and 30 (human) years old.
I have a taste for exploration and suicide runs... always seeking DP and feeling the addiction to it everytime I have, for practice purposes, to stop getting some. (Groom was my DP dealer in the first place but quickly taught me how to craft my own fixes)
I guess I can be a sarcastical/ironical lil guy... who changes his hair and tattoos quite often but always comes back to his original bandana Green long hair in the end. (wish I could wear Dreadlocks)
I try not to think too much about my only true love, Kageno-chan who seems to be quite needed elsewhere these days.
Even if my taste first made me pick magical Skills I lately started enjoying 2H melee and the new strength I gained from practice.
I particularly loves PR and often dig there to get me mind back to its quiet state... (and also get me DPfixes more easily )
I got no background to talk about as I lost my mind (and all I had in) first landing on Atys, banging my head against the Fairheaven altar...

Re: Introduce Your Character!

I remember nothing of my childhood. My first memory is dark, cold, waking up on a patch of dying grass. The air was stagnant and the smell of death permeated my lungs. I couldn't move my body. There was a growl from behind me. I tried to turn my head but my muscles didn't obey. I felt teeth sink into the back of my neck. I have no idea how many hours later it was when I awoke again, but it was even more unusual. I came to while standing up, a weapon in my hand, soaked in blood, a slain beast at my feet. I could still feel the pain on my neck, but I no longer cared. A sense of tingling satisfaction overwhlemed me, and I felt my lips bend into a reflexive smile. I had no idea why, or who I wasbut I was certain I needed a name. Holding the sword up to the light, I read the letters engraved on it's hilt.

"My name is Vale."

Hello, i go by my surname Final. I have been around since early beta.

Born an orphan and raised by the hands of both Pyr Kami Master's and the Pyr town guard.
I have been at the helm of an old guild since Pyr was first populated.

I couldn't tell you much about my past and I'm uncertain about my future and the future of my beloved Desert and Atys.

I am a pure fyrosian with Kami flowing through my blood. I don't see myself so much a person, more only as a kami.

I live only to become the strongest homin on atys and to be at the forefront of the Kami fight against the Karavan occupation.

I am the embodiment of the devout kami extremist. Without a second thought I would give my life for my faith, my god and my kami brothers and sister's.

I am Jessla, child of the Matis. I awoke, without memory or knowledge of who I was being carried on a litter by a group of Matis heading towards the ranger camp. They told me who I was, what I was, and explained things to me, but my past I have yet to remember. I am now in the Ranger camp, training and learning how to survive in Atis. I only hope through my skills and those I meet I will be able to unlock the mystery that is my past.

I'm to new to the Game and boards to yet have no idea of my playing commitment to Ryzom still any others. Yet even from this newbie level I sense in the posts a friendly community. From this perspective I trust I shall have more to say at a later time. Perhaps "The Saga of Ryzom" may be just that place to enter and be welcome. Hope to see you around.

My character's name is Mykyla Regis, a young Matis girl of about 21 yrs. Two years ago her older sister Llorea was one of the first of their people to leave their adopted home and go to the refugee camp in the old Matis homeland. In that time Mykyla has not heard from her beloved sister. A Matis warrior returning from the outside claimed to have seen Llorea die in an epic fight against kitins along with other Matis adventurers in the group she was with. Mykyla refuses to believe her sister is dead, so she too has gone to the homelands to find the truth.

Introduce Your Character!

OOC: I'd love this game if it didn't keep crashing

IC: Hello my name's Wolfcape, a Craftsman Tryker. Heh, I came to Atys with nothing but the blueprint for gloves and boots, a dagger, a Pickaxe and some basic magical knowledge. I may have only been here for a few seasons and fell into a coma four times, but here I am! heh.
I do enjoy gazing at the sky and observing butterflies and carnivorous and Herbivorous alike. I especially love the Izam and Yubo. I took part in a party which killed some Bandit leader, I think his name began with 'A' or it could have been 'E' hm... well, that's not important. The thing is, i'm here.

The downside of this place is not knowing if my family are still alive...

I am Azmah, a short male Tryker - short even by Tryker standards. I've been studying hard under the guidance of the Rangers and think I am ready to leave the relatively secure surroundings of the Ruins of Silan and move over to the mainland. An apprentice anxious to learn more, I'm excited about the move but still have reservations - fear of the unknown. It seems such a final step.

My studies have taken me into my low thirties in all four major skill areas. I still haven't decided what I want to master and plan to continue dedicating myself to all areas for a while longer. Hopefully the capitol city will allow me time to get my bearings before proceeding out into the wilds. I'm looking forward to meeting up with some of the other new arrivals to continue my exploration.

See you soon.

Pitfall - Fyros

I have been impressed by the community thus far, everyone has been extremely helpful. I have been playing online games for many years and very very rarely have I ever had to contact in game support. Well I did and they responded in like 7 min ...omg.

I look forward to meeting some of you and killing others once I get to the main land. I hope that I will be able to be a part of some memorable events and be able to build a name for myself even though the game has been out for quite a while.

Is there any good places to find out the lore of Atys?

<OOC>
Hello, I'm new to Ryzom and a fresh recruit to the Order of the Dragonblades.=) So far im loving it and plan on leaving the island asap. Ok, now all gater round a listen patiently as I spin a web of words and insnare you in my story. lol

<IC>
Greetings. I am known as Thundyr. Take a seat and listen to my story.

I was born to a humble Fyros family. They were simple livestock farmers, we didnt make much, but it was enough to make a living. We lived in a small isolated desert village along some fellow Fyros. I am unable to recall the name of the village, as I was very young when disaster struck.

It was a day like any other, my father was out herding our small pack of yubos to the stream. My mother was inside preparing the breakfast of desert-toasted bread and Izam eggs. We knew a storm was coming, but we weren't sure the nature or when it would strike....I remember pointing up to the clounds, tugging on my mothers apron, telling her the clouds looked funny. She reluctantly looked up and gazed in terror, she ran out to my father and told him to come inside immedeatly. We sat there, hudled together, right outside our home, gazing and the pitch black darknes enveloping the sky. We saw a crack of lightning and heard the boom of the thunder behind it, but the thunder didnt cease, instead it grew louder, and louder, and louder still, as if it was rushing towards us without reason or ability in nature. We stared along the horizon to see a mysterious sight...it looked as if it was a giant dust cloud headed by little dots....and it was surging our way! We figured out that the "dots" were actually powerful monsters driven from the middle of the desert by the storm. The next thing I remember was our village being trampled and all the homins being....*shuders*. I wouldn't have survived that night if it weren't for a female Zorai, wandering by on a scavenging trip. She saved my life and rescued me, but was unable to save the other homins in need...

The next thing I remember, I was hudled deep in the arms of my savior, frantically speeding through the desert to her tribe in a nearby oasis, it was a very large oasis, probably around 25-50 square miles. She introduced me to her tribe, and after a long tribe counsel meeting, the decided to raise me as their own, and train me in the way of the Zorai. I was fostered in the home of my savior, who was named Ky' Plythorne. It was then that I was named Thundyr after the thunder of the hooves that destroyed my village, my family, and my life.

While with the Zorai, they trained me in the way of their rituals, their customs, beliefs, and of course, the proper use of drawing inner sap from the body in the form of magic. Of course, I was a Fyros and my insticts taought me to use a sword as well as the lessons on magic from my master sage, Oroniu Hi. I was raised their peacefully in this way until my 17th birthday, the Zorai coming of age.[sorry, I didn't look into much lore yet, so please excuse my incorect dates, customs, ect., just trying to craft my story, I can tweak it later] I was sent out into the desert in hopes of finding my inner soul. Now being Fyros, it was also near time for my coming of age, and innevertly, I found both my inner Zorai soul, as well as my fierce Fyros soul. Both of them took living in my body rather nicely.

When I came back to the village, I found it under siege, I was still back a ways, but I remember my mother telepathically telling me to run, flee, but I couldn't. I didnt want to lose another life or home, but the Zorai teachings of wisdom were clear in my mind, and i knew that I must'nt let the enemy know of who or where I was, so I lay low hidden, observing the whole thing. The enemys were all on metoub mounts armed with the most powerful guns i had ever seen. They were dressed i complete black, with viels covering their faces.

"Give us the one who is destined to be two, give us the surviver of the desert disaster 18 years ago." all the leader was saying to Oroniu Hi.

"NEVER!!" he called in reply.

"Very well, have it your way.." he made a signal to the squad that was surrounding my tribe. They then began to open fire! I could feel my body being teleported to as far as it could go, as my mother gave all her strength into my escape, against my will. I left the battle with the scent of magic and gunpowder in the air...

I awoke to find myself on an island, seperated from the mainland. There I realized that they were after me! They destroyed my secound home because they wanted me! I then came to the decision that I couldn't run, I had to fight them. I put train my very best into everything i did.

It was at this time I ran into The Order of the Dragonblades. I knew it may not be the right thing to do to put them in danger of the mysterious homins after me, but i need extar strength, and they lended me theirs. I cannot continue my story, as I am as far as it goes....i shall write more as my life develops. I am currently readying myself for the voyage mainland to meet the rest of the Dragonblades. I will end my story here.

<OOC> so how was that? but I'm not done, here are a few possablities that Thundyr didn't know about and that i can fill you in on, lucky you! =)

Could the desert disater have been set up?

Would the village possibly have anything to hide or knowledge that the claok homins wanted?

Were the black homins gunslinger homins working by themselves, or hired assassins?

What are those two spirits that have taken home in Thundyr's body?

What did he mean when he said "The one who is destined to be two"?

Could the spirits possibly take control of his body, and what are they going to do, since they are near opposite entites?

Answers? Of course, but that doesnt mean it did or will....

Im going to close with a little prophetcy made by a Zorai mystic, deep in meditation, for a mysterious other force.

"There will come a boy. He will be one, yet only exist as two. He will be a sole-survivor. He will destroy your plans one way or another. He will either become a great protector from the evil void, or he will become a tyrant and destroy many a homins lives. He will have choices, some easy, some not. He will be known through-out Athys one way or another. I'm sensing something new,, Yes! The boy will be destined to..--"

She never got a chance to finish her sentance, for she bears bad news, and he doesn't like bad news.

Can't move it unfortunately. Best you can do is copy it into a new thread.

By the way, nice story. You're doing a good job on developing your character's past, present, and future. =)

Journal Entry 2498

Born of Tryker decent and grew up in Pyr. My family called me Brandon (if they were truly my family) and after years of hunting to provide for many families in Pyr (most whom were poor like us) it was time to go. Wandering through the desert I met a man who looked very familiar to me but I couldn't figure out from where I had met him, he told me to call him "M", also Tryker he spent most of his time making a good living digging nodes near the lakes in Dyron. We hit it off immediately and began to hunt and work together, after months of digging and hunting we found that we carried the same medallion and the one I had the name Mshadow, his actual name I then learned. He came from a wealthy family both mother and father died in the kitin war and until now so he thought he brother died as well.

That day was a glorious one and I learned my true name REKYrom, you will call by this name from this day forward. Since then we joined together to stay and moved back to Tryker to become High Officers of one of the oldest guilds in all of Atys, Ballistc Mystix and it will be BM to the end of time. Once again along the side of our leader and following the same steps my parents walked years ago...

If you ever find yourself in Fair Haven, look me up and tell me your story. We can share some lake ale as I have many more stories to share and some that will make your skin crawl. But for now duty calls and I must lead the men into battle, I can only hope that all return safely...

Until next time,
REKYrom

My name is Spacehippy I am 10yrs old, but learning fast to be a Matis Warrior. I am a quicker leveller and I am always up for treks and hunting. I'm a proud member of The New Empire guild. I can't remember much of my life until I came to Yrkanis as a refugee but since then, I have made many friends and continue to work hard to reach my goals to become a high level warrior and a very respected homin by the Karavan.

Pirate Girl Okimiko 8)

Okimiko's mother, fleeing the Kitin threat after the destruction of her home, family and mate, found shelter amongst the Zorai. After giving birth to her daughter, she tried to teach her both the ways of her Tryker ancestors and those of her new Zorai family. As a result, Okimiko grew to embrace both the free spirit of her people and the Zorai love of the planet. Reckless, impulsive and free living, Okimiko comes across as loud and unstable to most. Infact she is very enlightened beyond her years and sees life as a celebration. All the more fitting for her self proclaimed pirate life. Yo ho ho 8)

Re: Introduce Your Character!

The only child of DoBern and Diana, master Matis artisans, Jayneylou's childhood was very happy and comfortable. However her family were not wealthy, despite their work being in high demand, her parents neither harvested nor hunted their own materials so they paid a high price for the finest quality they needed for their work. Jayneylou had all she needed though, food and warmth and the love of her parents. As loving parents do, Jayneylou's mother and father tried to pass down to her all the secrets of their crafts, hoping that in time she too would become a master crafts person. Despite this and their constant patience, they couldn't help but sigh as she fumbled with a needle or ruined yet another precious material. Jayneylou did not have the makings of an artisan. Her eyes constantly drifted to the rough and tumble boys playing in the yard...thats were she wanted to be, playing at battles.
Her parents knew that whatever their hopes they could not beat this wild child into their own mold, so they let her have her way...she would often play for hours, learning how to wield a sword and run with daggers, she'd come home hungry and dirty...but would sleep happily.
In those times, the conflicts which were such a part of many homins lives were no respector of position and even though Jayneylou's parents were gentle homins they to fell to an enemies' sword..
Their death was devastating to Jayneylou, little older than a child she was left to fend for herself. She had a few skills she learned as a child and with this, her willing manner and the memory of her parent's love she set out on her own.
An orphan and a refugee she started to make her way in the world. At first she found the going tough...fiercely independant Jayneylou wanted to find her own path...but in time she took the offer to join a guild for two weeks...and there she remained, growing to love and be proud of the New Empire Guild.
She joined them on the battle field, but something strange happened to her, despite believing she had the heart of a warrior, Jayneylou found that she had an overwhelming desire to run to the aid of a fallen commrade. This was legacy of the caring home she had been brought up in. In time she became a healer and remains so to this day.
Jayneylou has never forgotten her first fumbling attempts at crafting and now fully grown she understand why her parent's so wanted her to carry on their work....it didn't save them but it may save her.
Jayneylou is proud of her guild and the Matis homin race, but don't be mistaken, as befitting her wild redhair she has a wicked temper and many have felt the sharp side of her tongue! However her heart remains steadfast.
Jayneylou also has a love....higher born than she, many disapprove of their union, he elegant, strong a spiritual leader in his guild...she...well an upstart wild child. But they are happy....

Re: Introduce Your Character!

My name is Sayfer Argast, a Matis warrior. I know nothing of the Matis though, but rather value the Fyros way. Let me tell you of how I have to come to be... how I have lived as a Homin. Perhaps you'll even find it interesting.

First off, I lived in a secluded forest village. I don't recall my parents ever telling me what they did for a living. Anyways, my village was small, with only one other child my age, we initialized our friendship immidiately, and became the best of pals. My playmates name was Selenia Tanner.

Well, she and I hoped and wished every day that adventure would find its way to us. But the most interesting thing that happened to us, within our seven years of living, was being attacked by angry Yubos, angry, namely because we threw stones at them. *Ahem Forgive me, I will get back to the story.

Then we were attacked by maruders. I was wondering in the forest with Selenia when it happened. Seeing the blazing fires, we ran back to see what was going on. Instantly, we were captured by the bandits. Our fate was grim from there onward.

For years, we were slaves. I think... I think it was about 8 years. The thing that held my sanity together, was Selenia. If we had not been together, I would of died from exhaustion, but her words were always aspiring enough to keep my hope alive. The hope of freedom that is.

We witnessed countless raids, many innocent people slain by the merciless bastards. Still, we kept hope of escape. When, at last, our chance had come, we grasped it. We were located in some desert. In all honesty, I had no idea where we were because, unfortunately, I was never educated in any way and was usually neglected by my parents.

Well, we saw our chance to escape. Their trust with us had built up, enough for them not to lock us up any more. We escaped the camp but... they somehow knew. We wandered aimlessly in the desert but not for an hour when three of those brigands on mektoubs found us and captured us again.

But, I don't know if this was good luck or bad, but there was a raid on the camp. Mercanaries were attacking. The cowards who held us attempted to escape, we started to flee but were cut off by some of the mercanaries. Selenia cried for their help. She... she was killed then. Without any delay the one who held her, took her life.

I cried out in rage, as tears flowed down my face. I was thrown off the mektoub as the three charged into battle. I crawled over to my dear friends corpse and wept.

When the bandits were dead, I was approached by a male Fyros. He looked down at me and threw down a sword, a flask of water and told me one word. 'Survive'.

They left me there. Soon after, I scurried through the remains of the camp for food. To my surprise, there were many provisions left, I even found some dapper, though not much.

I had no idea what I do from there on, so I chose to follow that Fyros and his mercanary band. He allowed me to join the band when I had finally caught up with him.

For four years, I rode along side him. I followed him closely, and he taught my everything about the sword, and everything about the Fyros. I adapted to there ways, and now consider them my bretheryn.

Eventually though, it was my time to leave, so I said goodbye to my newfound family and left on a journey of self discovery, never forgeting of my village, nor of my dear Selenia. My journey has brought me to this island as a refugee.

Well, I'm sorry to have kept you. Thank you for listening my story.

(Sorry if I got any lore wrong! I just started playing, but the server went down so I thought I might describe my character a bit. :D)

Re: Introduce Your Character!

Trevenni -

I come to you, masked as is my people's way. I come to you, with hands open and gaze lowered, to receive the wisdom and counsel of those who are older and wiser in the ways of Atys.

Hear me, then, I ask.

My family lineage is unimportant - as are most things when it comes to lineage. Whilst it is true "to look back aids in looking forward", my blue skin, my mask, and my connection to the Sap, to Kami, to Atys, should speak for itself. Gaze upon the bit of bark with the Zorai glyph "Wanderer" which hangs about my neck if you wish, gifted me during a time when memories flit like half-remembered dreams in my mind. See the design upon my mask - and take in its meaning if you wish to know of it.

I have stopped gazing behind me, and now my eyes behind my mask are gazing firmly forward.

Hear me, then, I ask.

I take my new naming in this place; Trevenni. It came to me after an hour of meditation, and thus it shall be for now. I am Zorai, if race is important to you. I am a mystic and student - master of nothing, I shall be a student always. I craft a little, I gather a little, I think often. Loyal to kami, I am, though not blindly. Consideration is one our races' traits, and if we do things harshly or when the blood is hot, then I can only say we have forgotten ourselves.

Hear me, then, I ask.

In truth, I cannot be overly troubled by the squabbles of the homins, Fyros, Metis, Tryker, Homin, Kami, Karavan - in the end, debates are futile. Silence, and the performing of deeds with a whole heart is all that is required in these times. Does the Goo stop to argue over history and old wounds? Does the kitin bicker amongst themselves over who shall take the best kill or advance first? Would the Dragon - Baleful be its name! - ope' one eye when hearing the million million voices' murmurings and assignation of millenias' blame and merely listen to the debate as if it were the sweetest music, or would it burst forth in eternal flame? Do we have the luxury of arguing in the face of such adversaries?

I think, I train, I fight if I must if situation warrants. That is sufficient. I am no hero, no great knight in search of glory. I live, I breathe...and wish to continue doing so.

Hear me, then, I ask.

Not all the world is conflict and war. Not all the world is about survival or death. Do you remember the colour of your first love's eyes? Have you climbed upon the canopee, just to see the beauty of the bark beneath, and the sky above? There is more to Atys than who is "right". So I have been taught, and so I shall believe until I am taught otherwise...though it would take much to sway this.

Hear me, then, I ask.

What have you to teach me, homin? Regardless of your race or calling? What lesson do you have for one who comes with both hands open? Cruel or kind, with a laugh or a tear, all is one to me.

Hear me, then, I ask.

Teach me.

Re: Introduce Your Character!

My name is Zeeby of the Isle of Refuge, and I am Tryker by both fate and choice. My past is my own, and so it is in the present that I greet you all as we step into the future. I can be found most in either Fairhaven, our capitol in Aeden Aquaeous, or in Loria, harvesting the things I can to aid my people and those who come to our home seeking refuge and assisstance. I am quiet, but do not think it is because I do not wish to know you, or to understand you. I was told by a wise Tryker once that to learn is to listen. To speak is to drown out the voice of knowledge. My eyes and my actions are my voice. Plus, I am shy.

I have just recently returned from a long journey to places overlooked, where I made my home, awaiting a time to return to my peoples lands. While I was on this journey I studied the planet, making notes in the ground and submitting them to memory. It was when i recieved word that my wife, Ravonne, was returning from her own journey that I realized that it was time to return.

I arrived in Aeden Aquaeous not even seven cycles of the sun and moon ago, and it is different, so very different. This difference, to me, is not neccessarily bad, for what is change? Is it good? Is it evil? I think that it simply is. I arrived armed with only my knowledge, but I found my weapons and armor of old still tucked neatly away. My apartment in Fairhaven still awaited me, and some benevolent soul had kept it clean and free of dust while I was away. One day i will find that person and they shall have my thanks and more.

Ravonne was still as full of life and energy as the day I had met her on the Isle. She seemed ready to go on another adventure as soon as we were able. She never ceases to amaze me, and I am happy for her that it seems as if she, too, found whatever it was that she sought in her journey. That brief first reunion we had, just this past evening, was enough to show me that time has power over many things, but there are some things time, and change, cannot touch. Our companionship is one of these things.

Now, it is time to set my eyes upon tommorow, while standing in today. The past is gone, and it cannot be returned no matter how hard I will it. There are many questions burning in the hearts and minds of all Atysians, and there are answers out there, hidden in Atys and the stars. I intend to help all homins find them, for better or for worse. There are some who warn me against the path I am looking towards. People who say that: "Some things are better left unknown." I will not subscribe to this. Fear is not an ally to be trusted. If scared and alone I must be to find these answers, then scared and alone I shall be. But I know that i will not be alone. We are never alone.

My first memories, well, may not be my first, but that was all i got, sitting against a tree on the island, felling the wind blow in my hair, and on the side of my mask. on my side it was a bag, with a dagger and some food, i lifted the bag on my shoulders, and walked into my new life...
