Going for
AA - Aeden Aqueous or Aeden Artisans
would probably make the list into a rainbowy chaos?

But actually, I think your method is better. It wouldn't get too rainbowy as long as any extra description isn't coloured.

I dont think ive ever come across someone saying AA... and meaning Aeden Aqueous.. people usually say Lakes / Lakelands... i always say FH (FairHaven) or say a specific point to port to.

I dont think we should include guilds.. Thats something people will learn as they progress..

People generally say KoD Matis (Forest) or KoD Zorai (Jungle) to differentiate them...

What about "excels" for excellent mats ?

I say KoDissy and KoDeemus... not really.

It depends if your Kara or Kami..Kara KoD is Descent.. Kami KoD is Dementia...

Ideally every acronym is something people will learn as they progress though, this is just to make it easier to learn :)

And yes, some lands aren't acronymed. Nobody ever refers to Sawdust Mines as SM either...

Other region acronyms that would make sense but I've never heard used: Liberty Lake (LL), Imperial Dunes (ID), Dunes of Exile (DoE), Savage Dunes (SD), Windy Gate (WG), Burning Desert (BD), Verdant Heights (VH).

Not to get off topic, but not necessarily. It's actually more of a racial thing. I'm Kami, but matis. I relate KoD to Knoll of Dissent first, which is why i usually ask for which one.

From my point of view KoD is usually Dementia due to it being used for rescuing Staro-related crises at The Ramp :D
