Thumbs up dev feedback yeah thanks for reading

"Thanks for your feedback everyone on these topics - since no major issue has been raised, we have moved quickly on that one."

-Xavier Antoinique

Ok, please?

With crafter names a major issue was raised and resolutions were offered. Xavier basically admitted that it is simply a variable that is set during the item creation, so it would be easy to have a stanza to manipulate this.

They still haven't explained why they expect us to debate them fixing things they broke with a previous patch. A patch is not news if all it is doing is fixing the most recent patch.

I am glad they are talking more, but I wanted them to talk more and have something to say!

Aya but i didnt see any debate about the "Bulk Exploit" bug so mayb e they just ask us to debate about bugs that nerf us to see if they can get away with not bothering to fix them, rather then bugs that help us which they fix right away with out even asking

Cant understand the point of these [Feedback] threads , they break something -ask our opinion on wether it should be fixed - we say YES obviously and offer some suggestions - they ignore those suggestions and fix it by puting it back as it was (or tuning the distance slightly) ,which everyone would have expected them to do without the need of a thread in the first place.

[Darkside] Maybe they need some threads they can point at in the future and say they do listen ? lol

[Lightside] They are just over responding to the new system of informing the clients/Players of upcoming changes

It's a new process, it's at a chaotic time. They are (according to given information) shuffling around a heckuva lot. They have a new person tryin to direct things and they are starting to try out various processes that they've never used before. On top of that they are (apparently) trying to prepare new content (oooh, key word.. and yes, i refer to outposts) all while a few loud members of the community are barking down their necks and trying to incite a riot (not always a bad thing, but I think context should be considered). So, yeah, at least let the process get off the ground before you decide it makes absolutely no sense and belongs in the pitts of hell.

.. er.. whatever..

Its easier to detect what concerns the players most by monitoring the responses on the different subjects. So they have means to decide which bug to fix first, and to put it in the next patch.
If it is possible to fix all open issues, that is great. But you can't always be sure of it.

I think the threats are a great idea.

What I don't get is how does posting feedback threads asking what do we think about the issues fit with the patch release process Xavier mentioned once? If I understand correctly, there is a vastly improved patch process with internal testing, etc blah blah blah.. so the patch that was released today was already tested in-house, and waiting for the ok to go live... right? quoting petej, my 'dark side' says that they already made thier mind before posting these feedback threads, or were they hoping to get some awesome feedback that would have stopped the patch from going live today so the feedback was taken into account and actually madde devs change something thus going back in the patch release cycle?, let's just hope this is the beginning of better communication.

By the way:
- What happened to the glimpse of production?
- What happened to the Questions and Answers?
- Why do I get the feeling that Jessica's last letter is just the same thing Xavier once said, just with anouther sauce?
- What will we get next? Another Letter, this time not from the Community Liason but the Executive Producer or someone in charge reexplaining how a software engineering project is designed, implemented, tested, released and mantained?

oh wait nvm, I think I am just in slightly bad mood today....

There was no major issue raised about that.

Devs said what has happened and how they have fixed it. Players proposed better but more complex solution (requireing new rites or user interface changes).

So, devs decided to go forth with fix and patched it on live servers as soon as possible. I hope they considered our propositions for longer term adjustments.

I was thinking this issue too when giving feedback. How on earth devs can implement good suggestions by players in next patch that should be soon. No way, but player suggestions are still good for further improving game.
