Entirely possible and interesting theories. Also possible that the war will begin, but be interrupted by a Kitin invasion (or a big dragon) and both sides will be forced to work together or perish. As I said, I do admire the layers and have great hope that it's more interesting than just an excuse to get us into killing each other. |

Cohen has said that our actions shall determine the outcome of various story elements. There are those of us who simply prefer to "keep our powder dry" until the true threat emerges...perhaps to be the voice of reason which draws us back together. |

(still OOC in case it's not obvious) Those that do not immediately put themselves into the pro-Kami or pro-Karavan bucket are still participating in the story (as opposed to "rolling with it). They are doing so in their own way and that really is more interesting than having everyone just do what they're supposed to do. The story needs everything from fanatics, to skeptics that will eventually pick a side, to a full-blown 3rd side (heretics are interesting). |

My apologies sir! I see that thou art not the purveyor of these tidings most foul. Still there are those of us who shall gauge our reaction in fact not rumor. I bow to the tidings of no God or homin. I shall keep those i've shared blood in battle with as my council. |

Re: Factions: Where do you fall?
When I started playing this game this time around, I had plans of making Sui fall into the depths of what the Guild of Elias was, as I was interested in discovering that for myself. This has been why some of my posts have refered to my "adoptive father".. However, as things have ramped up quite a bit, I have to totally redo my storyline, which is kinda wreakin havoc, but quite fun. It's interesting to have this character prepared to go one direction, then pulling a full 180 from that even before it really began. All because he was raised Matis and has to follow the edicts of his ubringing (which I don't like, but am having fun researching).
Anyway, my point is, to those folks that want peace, by all means do so. But give us folks that are feeding off the story something to chew on. Remember that your character is affected by the events and the possible threat to their lives. They may strive for peace, but even that will have to be fought for at this point (not really, but I'd imagine that would be the thoughts of many in this situation). Besides, as you think these things out and describe your characters reactions, obviously it's giving many of us (I would even imagine the game creators) alot to think about and alot of fun... heh.. this has been a good place to hang my hat for the last few weeks ![]() Thanks for the fun, may it continue through the impending appocolypse (where's my sandwich board?? "The end is Nigh!") - Sui ooc Quote:

Re: Factions: Where do you fall?
If there is a game related reason to choose a side they may be able to get more folks involved with the storyline/rp/events side of things. Though I absolutely agree everyone should play the game in the way that makes them most happy, I also believe that you should not share in any rewards when they come either.
For each of these "end game" major type events there has to be winners, whether they be faction or race to compel people to get involved. Along those same lines the losers and the neutral should have something to lose. Be it higher prices, access to certain things etc. or even titles. A reward system will make those who watch from the sidelines to more likely consider if they want to suffer the penalties of the losers or take a chance to be on the winning side. Should "any" faction win, it should not be the 2 races involved with the faction who benefit, but the individual players and guilds that made the effort. ___________________ DoubleTap Disciple of Jena Matis Dual Blader & Medium Gladiator Champion Click here to join Melinoe Ultimate Harvesting Guide Melinoe - Atys Harvesters http://ryzom.twazz.net/ WWJD - What Would Jena Do ? |
