A university would be a high ideal for sure. It seems homins only discuss things around the stables instead!....

Thinking about this thou, what is there stopping an atyss politik?, would we have the first zorai democracy?

I still can't say what topic/s will be discussed yet, as I don't know what anyone would like to target first. It may be politic, as that has been mentioned here already. My own topics hasn't been picked up so I guess those won't be included any time soon lol

I believe we are open for any suggestion, and it doesn't really matter much to me if it will be me or anyone else who takes charge of any topic. What is important will be that there are those who find any given topic interesting enough to want to join. I think the most skilled, or interested party should be given charge. Call it a technocraty if you will

Hi there Karm, It was good to see you back ingame a few weks back.
Now to the current subject...

A 'University' sounds very formal and may actually scare some folk away ...but naming it something along the lines of 'the intellect club' would certainly attract some attention .

I would also agree that politics should be avoided in the developing stages ...as they eventually arrive at any event without invitation anyway

There are many interesting subject to discuss on Atys, such as how the seasons and weather are as important as the location.....

The benefits ..and dangers...of Atysian religion.....always a 'hot potato' topic.

How to assemble and guide safely a group of newcomers around the land....and which treks will benefit newcomers most.

How to create and run a sucessful guild......

The list is endless Karm, and I look forward to attend them

would the University be 'IC' (I.E talking about all things Atysian /Ryzom) ior OOC (talking about 'real life' facts) or both?

I just called it a university, to point to the idea that we could discuss things that really interest any given person. And I believe most who would care to participate will be adults.

My idea was that it should be OOC, that is, things that interest us in the real life. And I it was never my intention to be teaching, like holding classes.
Think of it more like the greek philosophers who would get together and discuss things they found interesting. As I said from the start, I believe there are a lot of players who know a great deal in specific areas. I am always trying to learn more, and also get my ideas corrected if possible.


As for discussing things about Atys and it's lore etc.
I never found much interest among homins in that area, but perhaps things have changed?
If somebody wants a group discussion in character, I will be happy to participate. It's just that that wasn't my original idea.
