Id liken it to having a stupidly over sized bowl of sweets and chocolates next to you while watching all 3 extended versions of 'The Lord of The Rings'

You've eaten too much, you feel really sick and ready to throw up, but you keep on eating anyways cos its there.

Only once all 8 hours are over do you realize the grave error of your overindulgence.

I disagree here. Remember we are playing a game where the world is "supposed to be" constantly evolving. Things happen(ed) that affect the life on Atys. Battles are fought, tragedies, conspiracies, the death of important homins occur. And there are some events where the player is directly involved, and has a major part to play. The houses of the gods, the slaughter week, the kitin invasion, the marauders invasion... The event titles/event prizes are there so the newer players can see what has happened. They are there so the players involved can remember what they have done, and tell stories of the unique experience they have been through. Make them available permanently, and you more or less lose the entire concept of an evolving planet. Certainly everyone would want a Kami champion title or a karavan one, including me, but to make them available by any means would be an insult to the players who have originally earned them, and what they have done to get it. The event titles, made accessible to anyone not involved in the appropriate event, has no value whatsoever and I will see no use in showing them. My 2 dappers.

Re: Title

I do not object to others having titles if it keeps them happy.....
I do like to see references to 'kitin killer'....'master crafter' etc,
Player personalised titles will just be an enhanced feature of an existing option.....And of course there is still the option to disable what information is displayed on my screen .
Besides, I already visualise titles for some of the Homin I know

Re: Title

Sorry, voted No. What's the point in buying a title without accomplishing in anything?

And yes, i agree also that it can be easy abused.

Lilijania got a good point about multi predefined words, but it is just exactly what happens in CoH/CoV where something similar to: "The wonderful/incredible ..." is justified by the super-heroes comic background. I don't see it so logical in Atys.

So, definitely, i agree with Kyerna.

Re: Title

I voted "yes", as in if the option was ingame, I would easily pay 50 million for a unique title. But that doesn't mean I want the option to be ingame!

Now I don't think people running around with ridiculous titles would be too much of a problem. After all you can create your character's name and guild's name, but we have CSRs to make sure nobody creates ridiculous names for those.

But if you could create any title you want for yourself, there would be no more meaning to the standard titles. Why would I train my DA up to earn "Mage of Illusion" if I can title myself "Weaver of Dreams"? Why would I kill hundreds of kitins to earn "Master Kitin Hunter" if I can title myself "Elite Kitin Slayer"?

I see a bit of an analogy to how we received the ability to create custom emotes a while ago. It gives a lot more options, that's for sure!
But before we were able to do that, when we only had the preset emotes, it was kind of a sport to find the appropriate emotes for the situation. It was another little game skill that couldn't be gained by levelling. Many gatherings would have people commenting "Oh, I didn't know that emote!" or "Wow, that's a good emote!" Getting the option to create any emote you want pretty much made the preset ones meaningless and killed that 'emote subculture'.

Going offtopic but.../shrug /forgive me please
I know how you feel. I enjoy(ed) having emote chats with a few friends where the only way to communicate our thoughts and feelings would be through emotes. I may have tested most of them but I'm pretty sure there are some that I have over-looked even after all this time. Anyway I wouldn't go so far as qualifying the preset emotes of meaningless. I actually still use them more often than inventing my own because 1) it means less typing and 2) you get a cool animation

Re: Title

I'd pay a couple million dappers to have the Wayfarer title fixed.

Re: Title

I don't think titles should be baught, the currency means nothing, everyone will have the dappers, or know someone that does to obtain them.

I think titles should be harder to obtain than they are, multiple tree titles should definately be added.
