Some nodes pop naturally in low level zones, to help players (which may not have prospecting actions). The xp you get is lower and you may not get focus back.

Just a quick point on this...

as far as I know its the prospection that consumes "irretrieveable" focus. If you manage to perform an extraction which yields even just 1 mat of any quality I am sure you get the focus used to do that back
