Re: Content
it would be nice if the devs could give us a hint on what they are working on or planning to do with content side of things because if it stays no content how many people would pay for ryzom month after month again

Re: Content
Ring = good stuff.
It just needs a few finishing "touches"... I'm hoping they'll put in some basic "logic" components, that would be a good start in my opinion.

Thats it. People don't care any further. However the Ring is capable of so much more if you accept the obvious limits that are no exp and no loot. Why? Well you could for example trap a bunch of mobs in a cage and nuke bomb yourself to 250 in a day. Or place boss mobs there and farm their loot. So this really is a no-go. Rewards can still be given in form of trades with the scenario master in mastered scenarios. Masterless scenarios however are there for other stuff, you don't join the Ring to grind. The Ring's possibilities go beyound the games limits, you can create puzzles, minigames, the all longed invasion scenarios with 300 mobs, extensive story rpg like scenarios, lovely rp places, PvP training areas and much more. The Ring lacks atm indeed some logic components, for example to keep track of status information like a round counter etc. But on the other hand it offers a rich and easy to use macro palette to create missions or ecosystems with a click. Still I wouldn't call it a P.O.S. - there are just not enough scenarios available to show the Ring's possibilities and people get the common opinion its useless. It's a vicious circle, it's useless and nobody uses it -> why start your own scenario or look into the ring -> nobody uses it no scenarios -> why start... You could for a start download one or two here and run them. http://r2.kaetemi.be/?php=scenarios |

Re: Content
The ring might be a good idea, and some of you might even like it. But, I have no interest in creating my own content, especially when billing starts back up.
The ring (for me) is to complicated to begin with. I tried playing with it when it was first created it. It's boring and I have no interest in creating content that should be created for me, a paying customer. (even though we're not paying now, I have a feeling we will be). So please, the Ring is not the way to new content. It's just a way to tide some people over. |

Re: Content
Not everybody has to create Ring scenarios, it's natural only 1 in 10-20 players would be interested in making them to begin with.
![]() But the large masses do have to be willing (and able) to play Ring scenarios, if the system is ever to take of. If a player spends dozens of hours creating a Ring scenario, and then dozens more hours sitting in that scenario to keep it open, it's not very fun for them if only two people ever enter it. (One of whom also complains it lacks something that's not possible with the Ring in the first place. ![]() Exaggerated example, the real situation is not quite as bad as that, but it's not far off. ![]() |

Re: Content
can't people create second accounts that run obn a second computer to sit in the scenario and keep them open that way, while their main can do other things?
