What's going on??

I was playing earlier (about 6:00 EST to 7:00 EST) and logged out. when I came back to play again (@ 9:00 EST) I got the patch screen, and had to download the patch from March 15 2009 (189 mb or so), after that, it said I had to DL another patch (0.0 mb), which I did. Now, I get the password screen, the char select, but that is all, the screen goes black while it is supposed to be loading my character. I can hear the music, but nothing is happening. What should I do?

Re: What's going on??

That's usually caused by corruption. Delete the unpack folder (in the Ryzom directory proper) and try again. If still failing, rename your save folder.

If it's the save folder, it unfortunately means loss of configurations, so you'll have to reconfigure your screens and flags and such. If you have a good backup, you can replace your new save data with the backup (but I'd copy over the good save folder first, just to prevent possible headaches later).

The dev team has fixed the old logout crash issue (*thank you Devs!!!*) but folks should still remember to be saving a few good backups every so often.

I hope that helps.

Peace,
- Sui
