Re: Warning : Launch of a Major Event Play Role in Ryzom !

I think the current thread title fits the event since we're playing a role in building our civilizations on atys up, not really much roleplay to digging... maybe the roleplay will come later though.

I was really hoping for outposts we could enter or climb on.. like smaller versions of thesos, or playground jungle gyms/monkey bar forts I was always a bit dissapointed with the Faction temples.

Hmmm, I wonder if we'll be getting a new speech to explain this new goal to us.

Seems the towers are supposed to be completed now, anyways: http://atys.ryzom.com/news/43

Each day, valiant fighters, covered with scars and bruises, fought back the Kitins. However it appeared that, despite their small numbers, the Kitin of the Depths did not want to give up their foothold on the surface.

There were some notable developments that accelerated the progress. Emperor Dexton accepted the help of the Barkers tribe, which aided the completion of the camps in the Burning Desert. In the forest domain of King Yrkanis, the royal botanist Perinia developed new fibers that greatly accelerated the construction of the tents. The Tryker sites received unexpected help from the Silt Sculptors tribe: One morning, builders in Aeden Aqueous saw them come in a long Mektoub caravan loaded with parts that any builder would consider a treasure. As for the sites in the Witherings, the Kamis undoubtedly used their magics to help the Masked People.

These deveopments gave short bursts to the establishment of the military camps, but it was mainly the tenacity of the peoples that managed to construct most of the towers, and saw the first towers and tents completed in the last hours of the 2nd AC 2546.
"The Barkers tribe aided the completion of the camps in the Burning Desert", pfffft. Only the last 0.5% on the last camp, the rest was done the old-fashioned way.

And did anybody see this Mektoub caravan of Silt Sculptors? If they'd actually played these things out ingame, thereby announcing in advance that the rates would increase for that day, I wouldn't have hated the boosts so much.

Its nothing but an attempt to retcon the mess with the broken/mixed up/manipultated or whatever rates.
Its an RP text, not to be taken at face value. Just a "cover up" if you will, to at least explain the circumstances in the virtual world of Atys.
Its fiction, thats what´s a MMORPG is all about, especially the RPG part.

We know its not what truly happened, its just a nice "gloss over", something top take the sting of things.

Of course I´d like a technical and above all official explanation for this mess too, but I don´t think it´ll be coming forth any time soon.

So, I´ll just live with it. *shrug*

For those who can´t, go on flaming.

I would think the goal is to killkillkill :P The HoP one says 99.91% I'm assuming that decrease is from a killing spree last night. If so, this is gonna be a long hard fight. Atys is becoming over run, some places it looks to be wall to wall groups.

About those camps... Are homins still able to build (if they can get through the masses of Kitin)?

those missions are gone. there is new missions that will keep you busy... the 'Go and report...' mission seems to affect kitin threat level... and like before, the % is low. you decide if they are worth doing or you gonna wait when you work is more appreciated hehe

The mission to tour the camps with a mek is still there, it's just the last one on the list now.

Re: Warning : Launch of a Major Event Play Role in Ryzom !

The RP site ( atys.ryzom.com ) has more info (tho flimsy :/ ) about the quickening of the site building. Also, didn't see it mentioned but the progress site has been updated as well:

The war is on, lets eradicate those kitin!! Reclaim the Surface!!

Peace to hominity, death to kitins,
