Fighters feint option

Can anyone explain to me what the fighters 'feint option' is/does. The way I read it, it seems to be giving a 50 point credit which would mean you use less stamina (or whatever) in your attack. However, I could be misunderstanding it. I have been wrong before - I remember a time in 1984.............

I'm wondering if it is worth having but don't want to waste 50 SP's if it's of limited use.
