Why do Matis start out with a bad Kami Fame rating?

I though the Matis were a Nature people that lived with and protected the woodlands? So, why do they start out with a bad Kami Fame rating?

Is there any race that starts out with a positive Kami Fame rating...other then the ugly mask wearing blue bodies?

The history of Atys is rather in-depth. I recommend reading it. Briefly, Matis are aligned with the Karavan, primarily due to the Karavan's strange machinery and power and the fact that Matis like power. Also, Matis have the power to genetically modify nature to some degree, and this is against the want of the Kamis. Fyros, the Matis natural enemies, are Kami friendly.

Because the Kami are full of hate towards all who refuse to be decieved.

You should really take some time and read up on the lore on the website. Excuse me for one second...

HEY NEVRAX! This is why you need to work more on the story IN GAME! So that people know the history of the races!

Ok back...

The Kami don't like the Matis for a few reasons. Two of the main ones are they follow the Karavan and they try to genetically improve nature. They also exterminated an entire type of species because they felt they were better. The Matis are also not the nature people. They are the arrogant we are better than everyone people.

The Zorai are the true nature people and the true Kami followers. The ugly mask is because they want to show their dedication to the Kami. The Fyros are the other Kami followers.

But only because the Fyros don't like how Karavan say we can't go into the PR to search for our 'Dragon of the Myth' blah blah yak yak.

We don't really 'believe' in the Kami's teaching the way the Zorais do. We just have a better interest with them.

Me think Fyros are by nature 'agnostic'.

If we got rid of the nasty little care-bear impersonators, with their vested interest in keeping hominkind primitive, weak and divided, we could form a unified nation with every race doing what they like best.. the Zorai, navel-gazing meditation, the Tryker, crafting and harvesting, the Fyros, fighting and conquering (except who? maybe the Fyros are part of the problem too :P )...

Innocent harvesters? You call stipping the planet of a resource innocent? If the Kami didn't stop you there would be no resources left.

As for you unified nation. I'd rather feed myself to the Kitin then live under Matis rule.
