Tear's of the Kitin - Betrayal?

Greetings Homins, I bring you news of the latest development in our search for the amber pieces.

Last night a party set of from Pyr, lead by the generals Deamla and Sanantia. After much searching a piece of the amber was found in the Scorched Corridor, jubilant at our find we started the journey back to Pyr. On the way back General Sanantia was separated from the group, we were willing to wait and keep our party together but Deamla told us not to worry and to leave her. At the time we ceded to her advice and continued without Sanantia.

Shortly after our return to Pyr we were reunited with Sanantia, and an argument developed between the two generals. Sanantia accusing Deamla of leaving her to die, and breaking a law that bound the generals together. Deamla responded with talk of how the recovery of the amber was more important than the safety of any one person. She then left to return the amber to Seer.

The homins gathered where thoughtful of this exchange and proceeded to question Sanantia a little. It transpired that she has doubts about her once truest friend, saying that Daemla has changed since her time in the Prime Roots, also telling us that the Seer (who is guardian of the amber pieces) has been acting strangely and has not been seen for many days.

This has laid the seeds of doubt in many a homins mind. Many viewpoints were put forward ranging from the defence of Deamla to the suggestion that Oba may have found a way to infiltrate the ranks of the generals themselves. It seems a very dangerous thing to me to have all the pieces of the amber in one place, for now there is only the headpiece left to find. One thought that needs some discussion is whether a piece of the amber should be entrusted to a homin(s) for the time being until we can be sure of the motives and loyalty of the Seer and generals.

What say you? (and please add any bits i missed)

I have only met Deamla a few times, but she seemed trustworthy and has lead us many times successfully in the past and never astray. I have never met Sanantia so I dont know if to trust her or not. Perhaps theres something else going on, although I havnt had time to take part in any events recently personally.

Could it be Deamla found Sanantia to be a spy?

I believe this is all just a misunderstanding. I think it was just a personal issue between Sanatia and Deamla over leaving Sanatia behind in the canyon that leads to Varynx Haunt, south of the Flaming Forest. A spat between friends under a lot of pressure, grown into something more by the paranoia that is rife on Atys.

I will not jump to conclusions on this. I would rather we just talked to the homins involved and get to the truth that way. As for the Seer, well, yes, I would like a bit more information on the homin we are putting so much trust in. All these things need to be resolved soon, before we discover the whereabouts of the last piece (the headpiece). I would not want all our hard work to go to waste.

Damn it.
I knew, at the time, it was a mistake to leave Sanantia behind. But Deamla seemed to know what she was doing.

I think the issue between Deamla and Sanantia, as well as the strange behavior of the seer, need to be exposed. Hopefully it is merely a misunderstanding.

However, I do fear for all the painstakingly collected amber pieces being stored together. Although we would like to think we know who our allies are, it is a tense time and there will be traitors. We would never want the entire collection to end up in the wrong hands. I think they should be divided among those we all agree most likely to be honest. Then, if someone does turn, all is not lost, merely the piece or pieces they were holding. And we would stop at nothing to retrieve the amber and hunt down the villain.

*ponders on the oft-repeated phrase "Trust No-one"*

No one else noticed they seem to be saying it a lot recently?

The Samsara will happily volunteer to hold all the existing pieces in a secure location until they are called for by trusted authorities!
(For a small fee, to cover our costs)

I'm avoiding thinking about phrases like that. Why must we continually doubt each other? How can we doubt Lady Deamla after she has fought so often against the people we now suggest she has sided with? I pray it was just a lapse of judgement and will treat it as such until I see her once more.

Admittedly General Deamla has helped homins in the past, but i did notice something strange about her last night. And she seems to have broken some code (of honour or..? Sanantia did not elaborate on this), and caused argument, (She was willing to leave Santania behind, saying the amber piece had more importance) , which is surely out of character?

The "completed amber object" is obviously something powerful, and in the wrong hands could do a lot of damage. We know very little about its true significance. Is it right that all the pieces should be kept together ? Can we trust just one individual or group with this task ?
