HelooOO Everyone!!!

I'm new as you might've guessed, Started playing yesturday with the 7 day trial. Before that played Ultima Online about 5-6 years ago and Playing SilkRoad Online at the moment. Thats my resume in brief

I've seen on the site that the community is very friendly so decided to check that for myself. Cause the biggest problem i have with the SilkRoad Online is loads of juvenials using Global messages to swear and abuse each other

While from what i remmember it wasnt as bad when i was playing UO, so i'd like to ask how is it in Ryzom? And i have a more gameplay related questyion as well.

You know when you die you get some kind of penalty points...umm i got about 399 of them or so ( not my fault really

got the 10 mins disconnects all the time untill i had a great idea to check out forums for solution)...So what exactly do they affect and how do you get rid of them?

Welcome.

Having played Silkroad Online for a while, I can say that Ryzom's community is definitely way far better than SRO's.

Just do normal things like killing things, digging, etc. to get rid of the death penalty. Basically, exp you would've otherwise gained goes towards getting rid of the DP until the DP is gone.

You'll find the community here is quite unique, and I mean that almost totally in a good way

One hint that might help you enjoy your time ingame, especially while starting up.

Dont be afraid or shy about asking questions. The skill system and character development mechanics are different from any other game I've played and I've played many mmo.
All the veteran players understand this and one of the really good things about this community, you wont get slapped around for being a "noob" when you ask questions.
