Musicians/dancers in Ryzom?

I'm a refugee from Star Wars Galaxies and looking for a home in Ryzom. I'm a musician in SWG (I've been playing as a completely non-combat character for 2 1/2 years) and I'm looking for some similar content in Ryzom - I'm only really at home if I can play or dance in a tavern. Does Ryzom have any musical content? If not, is there any on the horizon?

Thanks.

Nope, and not that im aware of. Maybe you could RP it, talk to jyudas or zahan, theyre always looking for dancers for their thesos pub nights, but the abrasive fyros males keep scaring them away

Re: Musicians/dancers in Ryzom?

So far I've found three moves that could be used in a dance. It seems like that's about it. It's a bit of a shock, coming from a game that's generally not as good as this one (SWG sucks!), and finding that this game has about 60 fewer dance moves and (apparently) no musician content at all. I had hoped that a game that was based on ecological issues would feature musical instruments quite prominently: since instruments are mostly made of wood and reeds etc., it seems logical that the more ecologically-driven tribes such as the Zorais would revere the music of wood and reed.

Well, I guess there's always hope for the future.

Ah yeah theres a couple of emotes that you could use, but I dont think that would keep you entertained very long. The only instruments on atys im aware of are used for maiming, torture, killing, or the extraction of materials from the ground .

Edit: Apart from my candy cane, which is pretty poor at any of the above.

Spell dancing can be quite beautiful, I imagine. Sequences of crystallizing spells of various types and power, perhaps combined with emotes.

That's a great idea! I'll have to look into that.

Dual-wielders (sword+dagger or dagger+dagger) resemble dancers as well. The long, prettiful light trails on weapons at higher melee levels add to the aesthetic.

I can understand your playstyle, I played SWG from BETA to NGE arrival as a trader. Welcome to Ryzom...when R2 editor arrives you will have your own area to hold shows, Maybe have your own MP3 music as you perform .
P.S. - I am availiable as a promotions manager (once a trader always a trader I guess)

Its not implemented yet, as far as I tested it out. They said its being 'considred'. It would have been nice though.

Welcome to Ryzom beeryusa,

It would have been great to lead life as dancers and musicians, I am truly sorry to hear you feel limited but its a good thing to hope for in future! hang in there!

Anyhow katriell has an interesting idea, you should look in to it. *^.^*

There was something about entertainers said way back when. Perhaps they are still on the horizon?
