Been neutral

I'm one of those neutral character player who doesn't even PvP at all.
I would like to ask, does it cause problems in general ways in this game?

((Fame of Kami 0 and Karavan 0))

I was there looking last night outpost fight. Looked fun, but as neural and not even part of PvP can't really do anyting there. Also I haven't yet figure why PR as been neutral seem to be problem (that's what I hear) ?

PR teleports requre your fame with one faction to be 60. This will give you a disadvatage for boss hunts and forage down there.

Re: Been neutral

You lose

* Direct TP to 250 areas and the Prime Roots.
* Access to a PvP tag.
* An alliance to back up ownership of an outpost, should you want one.

You gain

* Moral superiority.

The 250 area lack doesn't really affect you that much.
The PR one is a pain in the arse, if you like to footle around in the PR but between portal entrances and Nexus you can take some of the pain away. You can always grind fame, join a faction, grab a bulk load of tickets and then go neutral again, if you want.

Re: Been neutral

You can still participate in OP fights if you want to. Just select the option to attack or defend when you are prompted. There is no fame requirement for this.

Prime roots are awkward as a neutral but certainly not impossible. There are some very easy access points near neutral tp's and even though long term its painful having to run from Trench of Trials to GoO for example, it will certainly increase your knowledge of the area and your ability to sneak past aggresive mob groups.

10 char min thingie, I could not come up with something appropriate confronted to such an assertion. Not sure if the post was IC, OOC, informational of pure gameplay aspects, a mix of all or simple FUD, propaganda or just superiority complex...

Take it whichever way you want, IC/OOC or any other way. A position that is not part of mindless warring is one I will always consider to be morally superior in character, out of character or in any other way you care to mention, particularly over sectarian warfare.

The Karavan: are destroying Atys for their own greed and exploitative purpose.

The Kami: hypocritically compromise their own ideals when it suits them, and do the above occasionally.

They both: command their minions to kill each other to uphold their "ideals".

If you are neutral because you chose not to march in lockstep with these questionable "higher powers" then you are certainly displaying a certain amount of moral fiber lacking in their minions (unless the minions are simply blind to the realities of the situation, I suppose you can be moral but oblivious in a faction).

Thats moral superiority. There is nothing _wrong_ with playing a morally flawed character, heck all of the best characters in any setting are flawed in some way. But thats your choice.

Implying that belonging to a game faction is taking part in mindless warring and sectarian warfare is shortsighted, snobbish and simplistic. Belonging to a faction has several aspects, ranging from a religious one, true.. to warmongery if you want it, without precluding complex positions where one may be factioned yet have doubts or not agree with everything, as much as catholics may use preservatives. You are, by your affirmations, guilty of the same thing you accuse other players to be, be fanatical, a simplisitic bi-polar personalities or dismissing arrogance towards others. You seem to imply that by being atheist or agnostic one is morally superior. Nonsense.

Stating that one factioned player is mindless warrior is like asserting that a neutral player is undecided, coward or willing to reap the benefits with no sacrificies, with lack or beliefs or pure materialism... quite not the picture is it?. You cannot put the Kami or the Karavan in a black-white color setting

Of course, I may be expecting yet another post, arrogant even, where your gameplay, style and roleplaying aspects are so far better and superior to others that picking anything but your choices is a dumb move. I'm sorry, I respect your choices as much as others, but to a point, I do believe neutrals have a part and they enrich the game. From there, towards that condesceding, dismissing attitude.. thanks but no thanks. *shrug*

My response is out of character for sure hehe. But reading the Bhagavad Gita (a place where I learned the meaning of the samsara, by the way), it is clear that Krishna do not put the same values as you do Jyudas on battles.

He tells Arjuna it is his duty to fight and he should not let his doubts get in the way
Thus morally superior can be taken as the opposite

As I said, you can take it how you like.

Well, this forum isn't the place to discuss that but yes, I would agree with that assertion close to 100%.
