What is the point of visiting tribes anymore?
The other night I was playing and did a Fyros mission to get some Fyros fame. Upon completing the missing I noticed I got about 10 different tribes added to my fame list. This was a huge disappointment to me.
You see before all the fame changes you could only get a tribe on your fame list by visiting and doing a task for them. It added incentive to explore and meet all of the tribes. It was almost a badge of sorts as to how many places you have been and how many tribes you have visited. Now it seems that is gone. So now I am left to ask what the point is in visiting or finding pretty much any of the games tribes? -You get them listed and fame from them without ever talking to them. -There is no lore of history to be learned by visiting them. -There are no encyclopedia rites that require you to learn about them or to visit them. |

Re: What is the point of visiting tribes anymore?
I have been monitoring this post hoping someone would offer a view or explanation.
Is the tribe allegiance less important now ?. Are the tribes starting to be alligned to the Kami/Karavan conflict to make them more 'involved' ? anyone ? |

I visit Karavan Tribes so that they'll help my poor digger butt out with aggro but other than that... They look pretty?

And don't forget the service that wandering tribes provide during outpost battles: They remind us that bomb nukes have a downside and they remind us to check out targetting at all times. ![]() (Teammate Says: Dang it! Who nuked the [Kara Aligned Wandering Tribe]?!? I'm losing fame over here!!) |

There are about fifty tribes. You can now see your fame with the ones that are allied to the Fyros (7 or 8?). The other races have fewer tribal allies. I think that the majority of tribes will not pop in your fame list by doing racial missions. Most of them require tribal missions (or killing them or gaining/losing fame with tribal enemies) to get a listing. You get extremely little tribal fame from doing racial missions (maybe 0). You get much more tribal fame from doing a specific tribal mission. A couple of rites involve tribal missions. One risk/benefit that you will find now in game is that some tribes will attack you on sight (in their camp) depending on your race (racial and tribal fame scores). You can do tribal missions for them to make them tolerate you - which gains you a safe haven in their camp. However, I do agree with you. The tribes are so beautifully detailed and intricate. They really deserve to play a greater role in the game with benefits attached to tribal fame. I greatly enjoyed visiting and doing missions for each one at mid-levels. It was challenging, forcing me to learn to sneak. Also it was fun to visit all the odd corners of Atys. |

Re: What is the point of visiting tribes anymore?
Close your eyes for about 10 seconds.
Clear your mind. Take a deep breath. Imagine that more than 5% of Rites are implemented in Ryzom (This is not an easy task). At that moment fo clarity you then realize that alot of these (not all) have an Amber Cube Rite/Reward associated with them. Open your eyes and you will realize Tribal Fame will be important "Soon"... I assume that the golden rule of coding has been broken since these were supposed to be out 1-2 yrs ago. Betcha the guy who coded Rites was laid off awhile back and never commented his code leaving a garbled pile for the remaining workers to deal with. So it either needs to be completely redone from scratch or Nevrax doesn't care about Rites atm. |
