Message missions

Hello everybody. I started playing two weeks ago and moved out of the newbie island yesterday. In the mainland I arrived with a quest to find some people. After doing this quest for a while, I got a mission to deliver a message. But I cannot find the person! How do this message missions work? I took a few hoping to get lucky and stumble upon one of them, some missions even had 10 min timers! Is there any easy way to locate these ppl or do I have to keep running around?

Hello,

welcome to Atys.
Of the delivery missions around they all come in different degress of difficulty.
You can divide them in two groups.
  1. Deliveries to Cities
  2. Deliveries to Regions

Generally deliveries to cities are easier than deliveries to regions. If you have a mission that tells you to deliver a report to Windermeer for example, you should go to Windermeer, and search the recipient. /target "<recipients name>" helps you to locate people that are outside the buildings. But sometimes you have to check every room in every building to find the person you are looking for. To shorten this you may use one of the 'spoiler' sites, like Ballistic Mystix or Ryzom Database.
These work for the deliveries to regions too. Here you want to explore a region and check every light grey spot you see on your compass.
The deliveries to regions are somewhat harder, because there are homins that you encounter in different areas depending on the season, and near season chages move to another area, for example hunters like Be'Riplan Jichy, who is know to hunt at four different spots in the four corners of Liberty Lake.

If you look for someone specific, it always can help to ask on the region channel if someone knows of the whereabouts of a specific person, and maybe you meet some people who look for the same person(s) you do.

Cheers
Trini

Re: Message missions

Several points to remember on delivery missions:

Deliveries alway to personages with a title (Captain, Hunter, Intendant) not to ordinary citizens or tribeshomin.

City deliveries, with a few exceptions, are to people inside buildings. Military messages (orders & reports) are for homin with guards outside their door. City Welcomers now give directions to homin - will give you a "mission" which puts your target in your compass window.

Non-city deliveries are harder to find, but there are not a lot of npc's that wander outside cities. Most stay in the same general area although some change area with the seasons and patrollers have routes they follow. You can see these as single grey dots on your compass. Visit each of these as you learn a zone and you'll be ready for delivery missions.

Don't take timed deliveries until you know where the recepient lives.
