Need to reach out to SWG refugees

I am hoping Acridiel, Zerman, and other expert Ryzom players can post in the various websites of the SWG refugees to let them know what Ryzom is all about.

Possible sites are:

http://www.imperialcrackdown.com

and the PHX guild website

http://www.phoenixalliance.com

PHX has suffered losses in SWG; many of us PHX members have gone to EQ2, WoW, and Ryzom in the wake of the NGE's destruction of SWG.

Thank You,
Amphiaraus

Got to be careful reaching out to the SWG refugees at this point in time, we became refugees because of BIG changes to the galaxy game.......What has gameforge got in store ?....BIG changes I wonder ?.
Just my thoughts, but I would keep this in mind and tread with caution when approaching pre-CU/NGE galaxy players.

Also remember how long ago the NGE happened now. Alot of NGE refugees tried alot of games after that and a fair few of us have tried and liked or disliked Ryzom and I'm not sure they would appricate us coming as a new user to their sites and marketing a game to them.

Uhm, why can´t you post there? You seem to know the SW-Refugees Base far better than me.

And as far as I know Imperialcrackdown allready has got someone plugging Ryzom
There even was a similar thread from him a few weeks back.

I've never posted on those sites and I think it would come better from someone who has been a member of their community there for a while is all

Re: Need to reach out to SWG refugees

Yes ark014 = Amphiaraus = Robert Kruck in RL

I was quoted in the Dec 10, 2005 NY Times article by Seth Schiesel which detailed the destruction of SWG by SOE's dumbing it down in their pursuit of a younger, less demanding, less literate player-base. This article became notorious for the quote contained within by an SOE executive Nancy MacIntyre -- "There was too much reading in SWG, much too much reading".

I enjoy Ryzom very much, I have 5 Ryzom chars in my account. I consider Ryzom to be a true MMO where crafters and resource harvesters have an impact, rather then be second class citizens as they are in WoW and SWG/NGE.

I run the Ryzom subforum in http://www.imperialcrackdown.com and have done all I can there to recommend Ryzom to the SWG refugee community.

Any web search of the strings "swg refugees" or "swg exhiles" should find a number of SWG refugee forum sites.

Here is a sample post from imperialcrackdown.com, let's hope Gameforge isn't planning to add a "WIN button" to Ryzom! (Everything I have read indicates Gameforge respects Ryzom and wants to keep it an adult-level game).

Thanks,
Amphiaraus

I wish you luck in talking SoE folks into SoR, but the SoR refugees should be our primary targets :P We have lost plenty over dev game choices as well...

Uhm, this is the Forum I´ve been lurking in for a while now and well, you´ve allready posted it here three times now

What more can anyone do than what you´ve allready done over there?
It´s a great collection of knowledge and Fun Stuff about Ryzom.
Well, I´ll be a bit more active then.

Oh, an Doubbletap I agree, but it´ll be a hard fight to get those back. *sigh*
