Re: Factions vs neutrals

I would like to make a distinction here between the neutrals that think both the Kami and the Karavan are evil, and the ones that know that they both want the best for us.

kapish?

if there is anyone out there who beleives the 'powers' are concerned about Homins wellbeing, I have a Supremes duplication scheme you might be interested in supporting.. you give your supreme stuff to a temporary alt I create.. and I get back to you sometime.. Credit card details welcome

Do you really think that matters since 'The Saga of' was removed from Ryzom?
What I saw is that most of the people can't think out of the box, and think it is blue country against red country. And they now play a big version of capture the flag.

Re: Factions vs neutrals

Yes Trini, I think the Saga was a failed experiment (gamewise) and an extremely instructive one from the point of view of communities. However in 5-10 years somebody I hope will redo the experiment in a form or another because access to the internet favorises at the moment only some cathegories of people(sex, age, country of origin etc) in MMOs, both technically and as mentality, making thus the SoR history relevant just for a part of the society.

But all in all the virtual world of 4 civilisations and 3 religions is agonising, not making any illusions anymore. 99% of the people who supported it in an active way are out of the game. Almost all my newbie days guilds have been pushed out of the game. It's not sad, it's dramatic and embittering for those who cared about it, but it is a fact and an interesting one.

But it's too late for me to not make a clear difference between self and "universe". Facing facts as they are doesn't have to change you or your beliefs. Watching those who made it this way and those many more who took silent advantage of the first cathegory doesn't change you and your plans, but it enriches your experience indeed.

It was - and no doubt will still be - a fascinating show to watch also a powerful proof of how many of the generous ideas of the last 600-400 years of Western European civilisation are actually living or put into practice by free individuals, an incredible sandbox to proof how little are we prepared to methods and tactics used in communities (and condemned on dead paper) for the last 200 or more years. I still belive it is a formidable scene to see the vitality of communities and how it evolves. As a patient believer in this kind of vitality I still think we have a world of surprises ahead.

But GF is relatively innocent to all this history he bought in same parcel with a bankrupt game. A newbie, in full immersion, coming to ML needs an average of 3 months to understand partially (if he's very attentive) why/what/who is doing. A company running the game has no means/time/people to judge this twisted history and just needs a MMO preferably clean of embittering experiences for the customer.

On the other hand as long as one doesn't want to change the world now and here, the multilayered, complex story is alive and available and nobody has any possible real power on our personal RP stanza.

Re: Factions vs neutrals

Oh yeah, because it couldn't possibly be that everyone called the game "Ryzom" anyway and they just wanted to rebrand with a simpler, more recognisable name?

But to the thread, not entirely sure what you're looking for here Sunce, the opening post was a bit vague.

I am however, entertained by all of the recent complaints by "Kami" players who now have "Kamists" and "Neutrals" fighting on the "Karavan" side, despite being oh so silent and superior when it was the "Kami" side with all the help. Of course there are still "Karavaneers" fighting for the "Kamists". Trini here is a perfect example, AtysGhosts too unless I missed something, so I think there's nothing to complain about personally; plus I am glad to see a mercenary guild that actually fights on both sides about equally for once

Oh, and since I heard it being complained about at Malmont yesterday, OPs are AvA, not GvG or FvF. GvG can be argued till you're blue in the face and has been done so many times so I won't go into it here (and I hope no one else will), and FvF is disproved by the same examples I gave in the preceding paragraph (among others).

Also, Trini, are you playing? Quit? Only here for OPs? On and off? I kind of assumed from that post that you had quit, but I killed you a few times yesterday so just wondering...

Re: Factions vs neutrals

Spriteh, the intention of the post was to get the "neutral dont belong in ryzom" bullshit discussion out of the other thread, because it would end in a arguement and gotten a good thread locked, and that thread has ALOT of great idea's from several players in it thats worth taking a look at imho.

Seems to me you just want all dissenters moved to another area to make things appear to suggest "everyone" likes the ideas. Dev's need to hear EVERY players reasons why YOUR suggested ideas are good for all our just your type of player.

You're not keeping folks on topic by telling those with legit gripes to go away, you're only showing you want the game your way and the rest of the playerbase don't matter. Discussion is what helps the Dev's see what the peeps want, one post where only those that share your opinion and agree with you won't get that.

Re: Factions vs neutrals

Okay Mr, Doublenob. if you read through the thread again youll see that the only posts I ask to be kept away are the ones who are discussing wether or not neutral is a faction and should be part of the game or not.

Those who say they dont agree with me I havent argued with or asked to hit this thread. I just asked for it be kept ON TOPIC.

So instead of reading 4 words out of a thread, checking the name of the poster, getting your /whaaaaaaa dictionary out, finding a finished sentence for whine arguements and bad points in it,getting a 3 year old to scan it into your computer, then copy paste it into this thread.

I suggest you go read it again, and then post a well thought out ON TOPIC post.

Have a nice day.

In my view, our game has developed into a Command & Conquer game

And the attitude that has developed has pushed a lot of us away
